Hot Take: not canucks related but canes should trade necas for someone better, he hasn’t been playing great in recent times, and i know this might not be popular for me to say but svech taking bad penalties is HORRIBLE, so they might also have to trade him, they could get better players by trading them. the canes also need a new powerplay, maybe a new coach to. That very last clip of the Petterson feed to kuzmenko just makes me think how much more successful we could be if they were cooking. Right now the Peterson line is not playing anywhere near their potential and if they heat up and we keep getting strong contribution from bottom six(ish) guys like garland and Lafferty and hoglander etc, clean up the mistakes and sloppy inconsistencies defensively and get injured guys returning + one more dman pick up we can be a strong team. That vegas game just shows where the bar is at, they didn't fuck around once and every time we did they made us pay. If we can start playing with that kind of fortitude with this group it can be done.
this was a very frustrating game, after they tied it, they completely played for the point, but that crowd was easily the most amped I've seen them in a very long time. The devils just rode the wave of the crowd to the win. okay boys we square let win this in regulation needed to be mindset. best game in a while but I'd be lying if I said if I wasn't disappointed.
Hot take: this team is the 2017-18 Colorado Avalanche it might not be this year, but they will be a top team in the league for at least the next 5 year and will win a cup.

Regarding the other comment… I do think Myers needs to go though. I’ve just seen him make too many costly mistakes over the years. His consistency at making mistakes is just too high of a percentage of his ice time for my liking.
By the 4th Canucks goal Rogers Arena was electric, by the 5th goal you’d think it was a playoff game with how loud the crowd was.
It’s a shame that we didn’t go to OT because it would’ve been amazing.
