1. Love all these YouTube armchair quarterbacks eating crow after shitting on all the teams that underperformed in the first two months of the season. Good thing they don’t hand out the cup after 20 games 😂

  2. Slafkovsky has visibly the worst if not one of the worse start to a first overall career since drafting became relatively fair in 1969, but thats 100% on the Canadiens not him.

    A) Montreal deliberately picked first overall a player according to their “needs”, not who was the best available.

    B) Cooley and company were too “small” for an already small team.

    C) Montreal really wanted Slaf over the others, but couldn’t trade the first pick since it was in Montreal and didn’t know if someone else would take him

    D) They really wanted someone NHL ready now to help keep the enthusiasm of the fans during the rebuild. Found out playing vs men doesn’t equate NHL ready at all.

    E) Couldn’t send him to Laval for some reason … when they always said it would be a long term development … a lot of the fan base was openly advocating for it.

    F) All of the above.

  3. Nah love that he had Maurice Richard game. I prefer the gritty, future Captains. Always loved those types(Steve Yzerman, Wendell Clark) Crosby is a bitch, but he did it at times…Bloody nosed hat tricks. That'll be my boy Slav.
He'll be on 2nd line with Mesar next year lighting it up for 25+ goals.

  4. I mean, we're talking about the team that passed on Brady Tkachuk for…*checks notes* Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
A guy who jumped at an offer sheet and is now a bubble player there, or a heart-and-soul guy like Tkachuk. The biggest problem for the Habs is their front office, they need to clean house

  5. Slaf is getting similar talk that Laf has gotten. Development is such a weird thing and it happens differently with every player

  6. Very reminiscent of Quinten Byfield everyone said he was a bust because he was mediocre in his first few seasons now Byfield looks like he is gonna be a PPG power forward.

  7. Drafting first overall to get a mediocre top six forward if his development goes perfectly. Man, what a terrible season to get the first overall pick.

  8. as a habs fan if we need goals we have suzuki and caufield for that. Both are on the smaller side though and Slaf's size is a huge boon for the team. If he can assert himself on the ice like a bigger jordan staal in the early days of the penguins dynasty and make room for caufield then its a win for us even if he doesn't score 40 goals a season.

  9. Big problem is no one ever saw him as the 1st ovr pick. It was just an absolute shit pick and it’s turning out as such
