Strome can fight. Good on Scheiffele, but he shoulda never dropped em lol.
Strome should be suspended a long time for this and it still won’t be enough discipline. It’s actually so insane players get away with permanently damaging other pro athletes bodies (their livelihood what they’ve dedicated their entire lives to) and they can get away with a fine, or a minor few game suspension. Connor could never be the same, careers can be ended.. it’s an absolute joke. This league doesn’t take it’s players health seriously, imagine if McDavids career was ended by a dirty play from some mediocre player. It’s unbelievable. The league is allowing these risks to take place night after night.
Big props to Scheifle for IMMEDIATELY throwing down for his teammate. IMMEDIATE retaliation is required or your team cohesion and unity suffer. When you're together in a locker room all year, you better unite in self defense or you're going to be a laughingstock in the NHL. Let's not turn hockey into curling by taking physical play out of the sport.
Dirty hit Hope Connor is alright!!
he did it to him self, keep your head up and move the body not just the shoulders.
Until the NHL starts handing out suspensions and fines that actually send a message to the players that this will be not tolerated then this is gonna happen over and over again!
The guy running the DOPS is absolutely asleep at the wheel!
start handing out the 10 gamers 15 gamers 20 gamers for this kind of stuff!
This is the dumbest concept ever. If the call is 5 on the ice that should simply not be reviewable. To give the option to reduce it like the hit in the Fla game dropping from 5 to 2 is pure insanity.
Dirty play. Can't even make a shit excuse.
Stroke suspension
Huddle for what, the ref saw and made the call, why review
Jets need a true Enforcer.
Too soft and this crap will continue
Those are career ending hits that should have career ending consequences.
Strome lined up the knee and braced. That was 100% intentional. When a dude does this, the offending player should not be allowed back until the injured player returns. If the injury is career ending, then the offender should be forced to retire. This is garbage.
Cheering for your teamate after ending another player's career. Stay classy, nhl
Terrible knee on knee but you gotta love seeing Scheifele get rocked, been coming a long time for that dirty rat.
Strome will get his.
Accidentally hit. Than loser mark gets his ass beat!! Hell yeaaaah.
the injuring player should be out as long as the player being injured, including career ending injures.
I guess the fans enjoy goon hockey or the league would be giving out life time bans for hits like this.
While I like that Scheifele immediately took action, I may have preferred to see Logan Stanley fight Strome. Or Lowry.
Always bad when you start a fight and get dropped
The commentator at the end complaining about no instigator is ridiculous. The original hit was the instigating factor.
Ryan what gives? You can't do that.
This is an example where fighting was not self-policing, but actually poured gasoline onto the fire. Not only did Winnipeg lose a star, they also badly lost the fight. It's a bad look no matter who you root for.
The fact that sebastion asshole didnt even get a penalty for doing something similar to adam fox the tefs must hate rangers and former rangers players and fox was injured for a month
Dirty. That should be 5 games.
I think what a lot of angry jets fans are failing to see is that STROME was trying to hit him with his shoulder, but in order to do so he had to lean into him. Connor was leaning further still with his leg outstretched and knee vulnerable. Definitely do not condone this type of hit. But STROMER has no prior history of malicious hits. He doesn't have a single suspension in his last 729 NHL games over 11 seasons. Look at his eyes during the hit, he clearly was looking up.
So how many games is the suspension…take your guess. Mines 3…
not only can knee on knee hits tear your knee, if they're a bit displaced they can break a femur. Happened to me lol
1 game misconduct? What a bunch of BS. Its obvious it was intentional.
man there is a TON of snowflakes in the comment section here. Watch the reply where you see him face on, he did nothing wrong, he played the shoulder, he never put his knee into the path, it was his already existing knee position. FFS you stupid cucks learn to skate before you open you mouth.
Ryan strome for jail! Minimum 500k fine. This should never be allowed in hockey. Nor should he
Concussions, injuries, just stupid stuff happening all over the NHL. How hard is it to penalize the player and the team properly?! Dudes are making several millions every year and they fine them $5000 USD, maybe ban them for a few games, whilst injured players might be gone for months and might have life-long consequences of injuries adding up. Keep it clean, not stupid!
you know west coast people know sweet nothing about hockey when they boo a deserved 5 min game misconduct
I have just about had it with this goddamned stupid goon mentality where the best player on the opposing team is targeted for injury. Strom should be suspended for AT LEAST as long as Kyle Connor is out, but they'll never fucking do it.
Great shift by strome, takes out connor for the year and scheifle for 5min..
Send him home so he doesn't get his teeth punched down his throat? Not a good move for hockey.
I dont know why or how the coach could possibly argue with that call. It is an obvious major penalty. But then again the coach's opinion is prejudiced and uneducated.
Dirty hit Strome intentionally stuck out his knee when he was going to hit Connor and I hope he gets a nice long suspension
Not a good check. This is how Mark Giordano took out Bobby Ryan and Cam Fowler over a couple of years in the past. Not sure what Strome was thinking on the play.
So bad ol' Tom Wilson wasn't involved? Amazing.
