He inspired me to switch to goalie which became my main position. A legend forever, throughout my childhood and still today
Retire his number.
The things I remember from LU is when he was mad at the ref and lost us the game 7 against anaheim. Also not a fan that he "retired" instead of staying on ltir
I still remember seeing the TSN ticker announcing the trade for Luongo, what a crazy time
Louuuuu
the best canucks roster to date and the most memorable one. There was always a buzz around the city on game days and marketing team did a phenomenal job showing these players' personalities. They were my idols growing up and always brings me back to feeling like a kid when i see content like this!
All due respect to McLean but Luongo is the best goalie the Canucks have ever had. First ballot hall of fame, backstopped the Canucks to the finals as a favorite to win for the first time, two consecutive presidents trophies, should have won the vezina in 2007 (he was second in Hart voting that year behind Crosby)
I don’t know what it is about ownership but they reluctantly retired Bures number and are now “honouring” Luongo.
I’d consider this a fail
He taught me that it was ok to go #2 during company time
Jim Hughes said it best “ great save Luongo!”..

What a trip down memory lane this was. Love it!
So many legends of the late 2000s and early 2010s canucks in this video
I'm excited to go to the game on Thursday!
