I remember seeing this clip 10 or so years ago, and thought at the time "why on earth don't Pros wear neck guards?". Just a few months ago, in 2023, a Pro player had exactly the same happen in the UK and he died. WTAF are the regulators and officiating bodies doing?

Absolute miracle he survived. That he got up and rushed to the bench where trainers, medics, and the doctor took over and hauled him to an ER in just minutes. I know this was 10/11 years ago but the way things worked together to save his life is an amazing miracle.
Another video of a wild leg cutting the neck of a player over 10 years earlier. There is another one that the are mentioning that happened before this and one that happens 3 years after this before a fatal one that happens in 2023. But because the player is black they try to accuse him of manslaughter.
This was an accident. Unlike the black player that deliberately kicked the white player in the throat, over in England

The human body is a incredible thing. So fragile yet in some cases amazingly resilient. I’ve heard stories of people loosing limbs even being almost completely be headed yet still surviving and some even walking miles to get help with their head literally hanging off. I also hear of some people who have died from a trip and fall or a seatbelt injuring them internally and they die. It’s really crazy how such extremes exist with the human body. I’m glad this man is okay it’s a horrible injury so I know it took a lot to make it.
Same thing happened here in the uka bout 4 weeks ago, one player lifted his leg way high and cut the others throat, sadly he died, player has now been arrested for either murder or attempted murder after social media blew up saying it was deliberate which it was i have to say.

Man, this still gets me. The seriousness of this artery being cut and the amount of blood that was lost so fast just shows how important it was for him to immediately get up, skate over and be taken to the back while the artery is being pinched. Losing that amount of blood that fast can make a lot of people pass out. He’s a very lucky man. I’m glad he survived it.
What was he doing with his leg up In the air like that ? He has a blade on , his foot 😮😮 he should not ever of taken his skate of the ice like that , extremely dangerous

I know very little about this sport but I'm wondering why they don't wear mesh or kevlar neck wraps? Surely it would be relatively simple to create some kind of light but strong protective wrap. If it's happened once, it will happen again and it's a terrible risk factor considering the speed and sharpness of those blades.
Does anything like this exist yet?
