  1. So the leafs may or may not get a solid d-man. Yes Matthews was great but so was MM. Dreger just states the obvious. Boriiiing.

  2. We should understand signing Nylander and soon Marner will eat up the money coming in with rising cap and eventually a lower salary for Tavares. Nothing has changed. Unlike the first go around, these guys will be aging and likely slowing down slightly. Right now is likely the best all of them will ever be, yet the Leafs will sign them all for top dollar. It's here where many teams make mistakes. Considering the Leafs will likely be all in on these guys things may not look so good come 3 years from now and for several years after that.

Just how many more years do the Leafs want to bargain bin shop? I can't imagine without the LTIR usage how things would look cap wise.
I dunno, there must be a point where developing and replacing top end players come into play.

  3. 11 million dollar player who doesn't hit, fight or win playoff series…WTF has happened to hockey…I'd rather have Eichel at 10…who is the best player in the NHL hands down

  4. I am beginning to think if the team can all buy into playing in their own end, it may not need such a big upgrade. They have guys that will hit, block shots and actually clear the front.

  5. Leafs are doing ok with the D they have right now, they can wait and see if something comes up before the deadline. I would say wait and see for right now.

  6. Before anyone gets resigned if they haven noticed or heard , instead of paying up front and not having money left over to sign two three or four playerd both management and the players could agree to a base salary for X amonut of years with the remainder payed out when the term of the full contract is completed

  7. I think Gregor, with his speed, could do well on top two lines if given the opportunity. And from what I saw in Jones in the pre-season, I was confident that he could come in and keep the Leafs in the game or even ahead of the curve and we saw that last night against division leading team.

  8. Man , I miss watching hockey from the early and mid 90’s watching Scott Stevens Yzerman , Messier , Recchi, Roenick playing, scrapping , scoring etc

  9. Ok my fire shanny and Brad is getting muted by points. But I have concerns with Sammy, Brodie, domi, and bertuzzi is still on my bubble. Reaves please no

  10. And in trade rumor that leafs are interested in Arber Xhekaj from the habs and from rumors that habs and Arber Xhekaj aren't getting a long and Arber Xhekaj may have ask for a trade out of Montreal and from rumors that leafs may have called the habs about players D Mike Matheson and RD Jonathan Kovacevic and C/LW Sean Monahan and D Arber Xhekaj and RD David Savard rumors habs are willing to trade Arber Xhekaj for a 1st or good prospect and mid pick and habs are willing to eat cap hit and take bad contracts for a prices. If true or not we will see?

  11. Bro we dont need 2 defenseman. Just a tanev or similar level player to pair with Reily. Everything else will slide in place. Reily Tanev, Liligren Mccabe, Brodie/Benoit With Gio and Lageson as number 7 and 8. Thats 3 solid defesne pairs with amazing number 7 and 8 to fill in.

  12. I was wondering why Carolina was doing so bad – Raanta has an .860 and Kochetkov .883. Doesn't take a detective to figure out their problem right now.

  13. I think with the emergence of Benoit and Lagesson on the blueline, call me crazy, but I don't think the Leafs need to waste any of the few draft picks or prospects we have on another D-man.
