  1. Your commentary was right on the mark, they need another right shot defenseman & a legitimate 1a or 1b goalie. Some depth on right wing & possibly some veteran grit type of forward or center. Imo.

  2. Bedard's goal wasn't on Bouchard. The Oilers got caught on a lazy change because they didn't get it deep or pressure the Chicago d-man and Bouchard was left to cover a 2-on-1 that should have been a 2-on-2. Ekholm was supposed to be covering the centre but was stuck on the bench waiting for the last shift to get off the ice.

  3. This team is now looking like the best team in the league. Such a strange start they had but I think Paul Coffee has helped the team a lot.

  4. You should get some clips and do a video about the massive improvement in the Oilers breakout. The breakout has been greatly improved with the defense holding pucks and making proper plays rather than just rimming it up the wall. Coffey has helped with this immensely.

  5. We need the following:
    a. solid 1b behind skinner (Allen?)
    b. hard-nose shutdown D that can play on Nurses pair (Larsson? Pesce? Would love a kulak-ceci third pair)
    c. physical bottom 6 center/winger that has cup experience. (Toews, Maroon, Perry?)

If the Oil can add those while maneuvering around the cap somehow (need to get rid of Campbells contract) I think we are in absolute cup contention.

    Nuge-McDavid-Hyman
    Kane-Draisaitl-Brown
    Foegele-Mcleod-Toews/Perry/Maroon
    Ryan-Hamblin-Gagner
    (Janmark)

    Nurse-Larsson/Pesce
    Ekholm-Bouchard
    Kulak-Ceci
    (Desharnais)

    Skinner
    Allen(?)

  6. Weak teams haha that’s funny Vegas the Stanley Cup champs Winnipeg Jets first in the central west, Carolina hurricanes, bus, transition team, same thing with the New Jersey Devils end of the defensive Minnesota wild they beat them to

  7. 3:27 lol Skinner just needs to have 88% save percentage for the Oilers to win right? Seriously though Oilers are playing better exiting their zone and the Defence are skating with the puck instead of playing hot potato.

  8. This is the first video of yours that I've watched and I definitely will be a subscriber. Great job!!!

I've been Oilers fan since 1978 (WHA) and I've seen a lot of really good hockey from the Oilers as well as bad. That said, the hype surrounding the Oilers this past off season and in the beginning of the season was unimaginable for us plebs to grasp.
Every player was under a lot of pressure to perform above expectations. This pressure was very evident to me in the first few games.
IMHO, the boys were squeezing the stick just a bit too tight and the pressure from the pathetic, whining fans was unbelievable and completely unacceptable.
I hate with a passion any Oilers fan that kicks a player when they're down and struggling. They are the worst fans in any league anywhere. They're NOT passionate, they're closed minded idiots that, 1 don't understand hockey and 2 don't understand players human nature. It's not a video game but apparently some think it is.
This team and pretty much all of the fans hung Campbell and Skinner out to dry in the early games, plus every goalie seemed to have career topping games when playing the Oilers.
The problems the Oilers were having at the end of the season and in the playoffs can all be boiled down to one thing, defense is a complete team effort.
You just can't win a Stanley Cup without it.
Both McDavid and Driasiatl were -1 in the playoffs and if you were paying attention, Driasiatl didn't backcheck at all, zero. Which almost always lead to a goal against.
He's started doing it more this season and I think it's made a big difference in his and the team's game.

Connor Brown may not be putting up much for points but he's putting on a master class on checking, back checking and good solid defensive play.

The Oilers don't need a goalie, they don't need a defenseman or any more depth, they're doing almost everything they can do the right way now and I think they'll continue to perform at the level they're capable of into the playoffs.
This upcoming roadtrip will be an interesting test for the team and I'd love to see them come back home undefeated.
    Bring it home boys!

  9. At the moment adding a top4 defense means finding a upgrade to Ceci that is cost effective. There's not many surefire upgrades to pair with Nurse unless the penguins want to let go of Karlsson on a discount. If that's even a good partner for Nurse. I Wouldn't mind a playmaking forward to pair with Draisaitl tho

  10. Did you see Ekholm give Bouch a speed boost there on the second Bedard rush?? That's veteran sense right there!

  11. Your first comment is incorrect. Bouchard wasn’t responsible on Bedard’s goal. Bedard tracked right to left along the blue line and should have been marked by Ekholm who was late to the play because of a late change by Ceci. Bouchard was correctly marking the man in front of him.

  12. Amazing run right now and let’s keep’er going! Coffey definitely needs props for not only getting the D involved in the play, way better coming out of our zone with crisp passes and out net front work is getting better but still needs a lot of work.

  13. Great video and breakdown but I didn’t like how the editing was very choppy. There are a lot of pauses in the video where I preferred to have watched the play. Even repeating the play a few times while talking over it would’ve been fine
