Larkin was always an elite player. He just has never had a truly competitive team around him and his leadership is well felt on the team especially after the disappointing Sweden trip. Glad to have him back! LGRW
Damn bro is a true warrior
Johny, though I'm a Leafs fan, I don't really care what teams you cover! All your videos are great my friend!
Larkin played just as good last 2 seasons people just don't watch
As a few others have said, Larkin has always been elite, he just didn't have the linemates to compete at a high level.
If Husso is in net… take the over. LGRW
Nice to see, but he has to think about life after hockey… don't rush back.
He’s made of glass. No toughness at all, I beat Conor mctapper in a bar in 2022 as well, 29-0
the fact he also just recently lost his baby. shows how strong he is
Wasn't he just KO'd? Looked like as he was going down, he caught a fist or butt end of the stick from Kelly? Looked like a UFC KO IMO.
Larkin very obviously had a concussion. He was knocked out. He should not be on the ice, let alone returning any time soon.
Most of the time its "fine"when you rush it. As in it won't impact his hockey for this season. But its still a bad idea.
Don't really follow the Red Wings, or know anything about them. But this is definitely reassuring to see. A player's health is the number 1 priority, at least in my books. Everything else comes after.
I've been a Wing's fan since I was a kid. My twin brother and I played our hockey in the basement with a roll of electrical tape. Even though I'm right handed, I taught myself to shoot left handed because my favorite player was Alex Delvecchio. Only years later did we actually play hockey for real both on ice and roller skates.
Through the years, there have been many ups and too many downs…the former being almost entirely focused on the rivalry between Detroit and the Colorado Avalanche. The downs?.. Too many seasons when my boys just didn't measure up. Now that things are back on track, I'm enjoying myself all over again and, for sure, Dylan Larkin is big part of what Detroit has been developing over the last three or four years. Glad to see him up and skating again. Losing him for an extended period of time not only for his on ice play but for his leadership would have been tough row to hoe.
No comment about thousands of Wings fans calling Joseph the n-word or wishing cancer and death upon him for a freak accident?

Larkin wearing the “C” to continue the legacy of Yzerman, Lidstrom, Howe, and a long list of Hall of Famers
The guy is a warrior. He kind of reminds me of Yzerman actually!
Looks the same … except now he has other people to help shoulder the burden. He’s been carrying this team since Zetterberg retired. Really thought this is the year when he didn’t have to be relied on to do EVERYTHING… face offs, shoot outs, supply the forechecking, provide the offense, penalty killer, power play, etc. I don’t think their is another Center out there that has to do all of that while playing against the other teams top line night in and night out. Especially when other teams are singling him out as the guy to shut down however possible …
Larkin is a man of Steel
Classy Sens fans, good one!
First season ive watched Detroit since Datsyuk aswell. This team is exciting.
Larkin had one less than productive season when yzerman asked him to concentrate on being great defensively. I'd love to see a package of that, he's had some awesome defensive plays.
I'm still eyeballing Cartoid Sinus Hypersensitivity as a possible condition/underliying cause of the collapse. The fact that concussion protocol seems to have had no red flags make this a greater possibility. And yes, this was his best offensive year, most of his points matter (GT/GW points, first goal of game)
I have a feeling what he experienced was not as traumatic as…well, a knockout from trauma. It could have been an interruption of the blood flow, like a choke, that just shut him down and that would definitely be less damaging than a concussion. The hits he took just didn't look very strong and it seemed like a freak accident to me.
Either way, it still really sucked. Unless the team really starts to go nuts, he probably won't be able to break his career high in points. But I think he was on track to, the way things were going.
