  1. luongo really screwed over vancouver and the canuck organization. he rejected going on LTIR in florida, retiring and stiffing the canucks with the salary recapture and immediately taking a paid front office job with the panthers for starters. every player who's had a career ending injury during a contract always goes on LTIR till his contract expires. he requested a trade, but not to a cup contender, he wanted to go back home to a team that had no chance of winning a cup. so he baled on the canucks when they really needed him. the luongo front office blocked all ticket sales for non US residents during last years playoffs. he's no friend of vancouver or canada.

  2. The Benning regime deserves a lot of credit for assembling a solid core for this team. This regime gets top marks for the way they have filled out the roster with all the right pieces.

  3. 4:29 I think this is the first time Canucks ownership has been put in a situation where, IF they were to tell Jim Rutherford what to do, and I can't F-ING stress this enough, IF (meaning, it doesn't appear to have happened in this case)(read it twice before commenting if that helps) that happened, Jim would probably respond by saying, "Hey, it sounds like you've got this figured out! I'll step down and enjoy the rest of my life. Good luck. See ya." Linden basically did that, but I think that involved other factors including Benning (I don't blame Linden for jumping ship).

12:58 Demko just turned 28. He's damn good. He's great. Most of my hockey friends in Red Deer wish he was on their teams. But he'll have to put on a McLean type of playoff performance to become THAT kind of a legend. He'll never get the shutout numbers Lu got. With scoring on the rise, I doubt any goalie will for a long time.
