Yea the Leafs are pulling off these late game heroics a lot this season, but they’re not finishing any of these games. How big would a win against Boston that Saturday night in OT have been, or the Islanders after the fans were booing Tavares after his 1000 point, or tonight coming back from 5-0, they’re getting all these chances to rise to the occasion and they don’t finish..these are turning point chances that could send the Leafs on a trajectory they’ve never seen before, and they choke. Just like the playoffs. So I don’t get the cheerleading in the comments…it’s not 2016 these fkn moral victories aren’t cutting it anymore

It's not all sammies fault, but with that said, he was brutal and needed to stop 2 or 3 of those pucks period. I have absolutely no faith in him, and the boys were so blatantly sick with something its pretty apparent.
Poor Matthews always has to come up with excuses on why the defence and goaltending is so horrendous.

If this team had a real goalie they would be a legitimate Stanley Cup contender, I like Samsonov as a backup goaltender but as a starter he just doesn’t cut it. There is no need to dissect his game though but if you watch closely it becomes pretty obvious that he cannot be relied upon and the Leafs will not win anything with him in goal.
So not to kick the Leafs when they are down but if Keefe replaces Samsonov with Jones after the 2nd do they win this game, because Keefe wanted to protect Samsonov’s feelings it may have cost us a point. It’s no wonder this team is soft and they can’t win the big games, they are more concerned about hurting someone’s feelings.
Bottom line, they let it go to 5-0 to a team much lower in the standings. Whatever happened after that means nothing to me. Pathetic.
