That is less of a mjaor compared to the hit against Gudbranson a few days ago. It's still the right call imo, but it shows how awfully bad the decision a few days ago was.
That hit didn't look like much, and yes, Malinski did stumble, but you gotta somehow pull off of that check. Call was justified IMHO.
seemed unintentional but still reckless
Fucking zebras. What about Tanev? Colton completely got away with it. Clean hit in my book, given this NHL.
I guess since they can't win this year, the Sharks have decided to just try to injure the other teams.
That's a stretch for a major
Сам вьебался в борт. У судей глаза на жопе
I saw the Av's hit someone harder than that the other day and not even a penalty, what the fuck
Definitely a game. LED with his elbow
Horrible call! Well, the refs making the call I can understand, but keeping the call after being able to review it is horrible. You can see Malinski loses an edge just as he goes into the boards. That causes his head to drop lower, which in turn causes MacDonald's elbow and shoulder to graze Malinski in the head. Malinski doesn't lose his edge, this is a nothing hit that grazes across Malinki's shoulder. Also at 2:26, the commentator to says, "but this…that's a dirty play". NO WAY MacDonald could have meant to do that, or avoided it since Malinski's head dropped from his losing an edge at the last second.
Clown show…
Definitely with a game misconduct.
Forearm shiver to the head.
McDonald is a loser
Players getting dumber by the day or what? With all the questionable hits going on lately why not forearm shiver a guy who already boarded himself. 🤦🏽
5 mins tops not a game
Bad call! Malinski's own fault for falling against the boards.
Around the 42 second mark..Did this announcer just say this as a joke or something? I like mcdermaids game but uhm?
Not even a minor. He tripped
Dude's skate got stuck.
A MAJOR???
Refs smoking crack
No official saw the goalie get run?
Nah no way that is a major. MacDonald has pretty much already landed the hit when Malinski lost balance. 100% accident and really unfortunate he got hurt. Hope its "just" some stitches and hes good to go.
Cuz
This same play happens every game, nearly every other shift. Piss poor call. NHL needs to get there shit together.
same type of hit as larkin but we don't call major for that
Oh god that's terrible, I would call that a late hit.
take your kid to work day?
Thats more of a 5 and a game for elbowing than boarding.
This kid doing commentary has more insight to the game than some professional commentators.
Not saying this hit looked super aggressive but when you see numbers just go for the stick lift. It's easier from that angle anyways

Another terrible, blown call.
2min
definitely a major, 1 game max
Watch from 0:50 to 0:53 at .25 speed. MacDonald actually turns his glove and drops his elbow (which isn't high or extended in the first place) and makes every attempt to avoid Malinski's head. This is an unbelievably bogus call against a guy who saw an opponent toepick and put himself in a defenseless position and then had tenths of a second to react. He even gave him a tap after the hit as an apology. Compare this to the video the other day on this channel of Kane hitting Brodin. Kane jumps into Brodin 2 feet from the boards and directly in the back. No call. Some teams just seem to get better officiating than others.
Yet Cousins gets no penalty and all hell broke loose and this one is a 5?
Ridiculous
trash ass call, he fell before he got hit
5 minute major yes, dont think it warranted an ejection, dude caught an edge just before the hit, would have been a relatively clean hit if he hadnt of fell.
