Scoring has never been this team’s problem.
It’s been defense, work rate, and knowing when to stick and when to twist as the game progresses in order to secure victories. « Learning to win » is a practiced skill and we don’t have enough experience stored up in the vets. It’s been a brutal few years.
There’s too much talent on this team to be bad going forward. Tonight showed that.

We weren’t the worst team on the ice for once!
I was very nervous when we went up 5 goals. But we barely held on this time.
I’d like them to stop fucking around during the third. But good win overall.

Ignoring how awful Buffalo is, that was easily our best performance this season tbf. We were scoring for fun and so good to finally see them play some offense in the 3rd period. You can tell they had serious demons to fight off there.
In a season of disappointment and crap results, it’s nice to get something like this over the line. Thanks boys.
My favorite part was where we played offense in the third period.
The fact that they started to come back and our guys proved to themselves they can shut it down is the best takeaway from this game.
On to the caps
The defense needs to step up. Good win, but defense still looked rough.

Glad to see Sillinger get rewarded for solid play, like his chemistry/game with KJ, hope they stick together for a while. Wondering about Danforth on the first line, love that guy and never feel bad about him being on the ice, but I’d like to see how that line works with Rosie when he gets back. The defence might not be top-notch, though Roslovic has made strides and Fantilli can definitely hold his own, but the skill ceiling would be a lot higher. Bump Danforth back to the 3rd or 4th, you can always move him back up later if things go south.

I know Buffalo scored some towards the end, but today we continued to push for a bit. Keep that up going forward. Clean up the back end a bit and baby, we got a few ore wins coming…I hope. I hope they continue to push a bit in the third like tonight.

We just scored nine goals and Twitter is blowing up bitching about ice time. With the exception of the ones on the PK, it’s pretty damn even. Even Iohnny Gaudreau had 14:22.
