Not a bad game honestly. Horrible bounces on every goal against & not a single PP. Oh well.

  2. Deluxechin

Gotta give props for the Rangers to play 60 minutes of pure skill, infractionless and harmless hockey

  3. inhindsight7

Keefe needs to tear into the refs after this one. Even if it’s passive aggressive like « I was really impressed with our opponents ability to play a completely clean game » or something, you can’t say nothing. Completely unacceptable from the refs.

  4. ProfessorBeast55

Most undeserved L of the season. 3 goals off unlucky bounces and refs calling NOTHING for the Leafs meanwhile the Rangers were dIsIpLinCeD. Suck my ass

  5. SMGiven

Good game really. Coulda gone either way

  6. WTF_James

There better not be any Martin Jones shit talk in this thread.

    Bounces be crazy.

  7. billybobsingh

Meh can’t be mad at the Leafs on this one. Played well overall just had unlucky bounces and refs who bet on the Rangers.

  8. Fuuutuuuree

That was the fakest loss of the season

  9. toedragrelease

Bullshit, unlucky stupid game. What else is there to say really?

    Goodnight.

What an unlucky game for us. I think at worst it was an even game and at best we were the better team for more of the game. Just one of those games where nothing goes our way.

I for one am amazed by the cleanness of the New York Rangers… zero penalties…. Incredible

Unfortunate result but the boys fought hard and AUSTON MATTHEWS is a maple leaf. Take the L with a grain of salt, on to Buffalo

When you’re in Chicago all those years, when you play and come into Toronto, you know what goes on.

Hard to be too bothered by that one, it was a hard fought game against a top team that was much closer than the score indicates.

Some weird bounces, a few big saves, an impressive display of clean hockey by the Rangers. One bad defensive breakdown on the Schneider goal.

On the plus side, Auston looks like Hart trophy Auston again.

Matthews would be at 30G if he played Pittsburgh

  16. dwnumber1

Willy tried to enter the zone through 2 defenders like ten times and immediately lost it every time and missed good chances bad night from him.

  17. waitareyou4real

Apparently NY played a perfectly clean game

  18. thrilliam_19

That’s a “burn the tape” game if I have ever seen one. Leafs played fine, refs didn’t give them a single call, and the puck had a mind of its own.

Shake it off and win the next one.

Trading Rasmus Sandin for a 1st and Gustaffson only to let Gustaffsson walk in the off season for an exorbitant contract of…$825K, truly one of the more baffling moves of the off season.

Other than that, this was a loss vs one of the best teams in the league and it was a close game for the most part. Can’t really complain too much.

Rangers fan here: we just played the Bruins. I’d much rather play them in the playoffs than you guys.

  21. ArthasCousland

I fucking knew the calls weren’t going to go our way as soon as it was mentioned this would be the Rangers fastest record to 45 points in a season. What an absolute joke. Imagine how the game would have gone if the game was called the way it should have been.

  22. StaticR0ute

I’d like to congratulate the Rangers for playing a 100% clean game. Not even one play that warranted a penalty. Wow!

  23. FansTurnOnYou

I’m not too mad about that game. As it was, I think if you play that game ten times it’s pretty close to 50/50. The difference was primarily one flukey goal and one unlucky deflection. I do think the Rangers were playing playoff type hockey while we were just playing very good regular season hockey and that’s why the game was close.

We were just way too casual with the puck. Looking for soft saucers, lazy drop passes, and just so many passes to areas and not players just lacking any purpose. Sure the ice looked extra shitty tonight but the Rangers were playing us tight, making zone entries difficult and getting sticks on pucks and bodies on players.

Even despite playing us tight I thought we were generating some good looks and our forechecking was very good. Knies especially was so incredible tonight and looked unstoppable. I generally like Timmins but guy was struggling tonight. I feel like we were totally capable of taking over that game against a really strong effort from the Rangers but they played hard enough to deserve the win and just got luckier.
