Crazy how we went from « country club » allegations to this in like a few months

  2. DunCanuck

Big Z confirmed Valley Girl. He’ll be in LA come free agency.

  3. Iamthelurker

Sedins start attending practice and we start winning big. Coincidence? I think not.

  4. StuckInHoleSendHelp

It’s just damn unbelievable how fast things seem to be turning around for this org.

I’m a Canucks 1A fan and a Penguins 1B since the Jagr days.
I was legit nervous about the Rutherford hire, I felt maybe the guy was past his prime.
Then last season happened and my fears seemed to be right.
Then the off season hit, hope glimmered again.
Now this crazy run that hasn’t dropped off and is legit and it seems like no, he wasn’t past his prime he just needed to pass it on.
The boys have the vibe again. It’s going to be a fun season win or lose.

Love the new insights by Big Z here on the relationship between the players and this year’s coaching staff. Not surprised, but it’s great to hear!

Anyone else read that and get turned on!? 😂🫢

And then his agent demands 6. Money talks.

  9. Due_Entertainment_44

Sounds like there’s a good teacher-student ratio 😁 I wonder how it compares to other teams.

  10. I’m still annoyed that we had to endure those crappy years with benning at the helm

Crazy lucky to have two Sedins. Some other unlucky teams might not have even have one!

It’s one player’s thoughts… a brand new player, at that. I would imagine his comments are also meant to address those critical
of him for demanding a trade out of Calgary. Ask him again after a losing streak…

That said, I like Zadorov and also like the current team and staff

That’s, like, really, like, great to hear from, like, a new player.

Jk, actually impressed with his English. And his hockey. Mostly his hockey.

Stuff like this is why I’m not on the “AQUA SELL THE TEAM” train. Regardless of his personal failings, he is at the very least willing to spend on the team. People who want him to sell clearly weren’t around when the Canucks ownership played hardball with Pavel Bure’s contract to the point it soured the relationship, and they couldn’t afford to keep our best players like Jovocop.

Let’s hope it’s stays this way this time

It’s amazing what trading Horvat & firing Boudreau did for this team. I’ve always been a big Boudreau fan, but he’s far too easy going for this group. Tocchet was exactly what they needed.

Something about this team turns me on and I don’t know what.

  18. IntoTheCrimson

It’s a hell of a coaching team to be learning from. Hall of Famers and elite players. Nothing against Boudreau or Green, but the guys we have now no doubt command a lot of inherent respect because of the players that they were. I imagine it’s much easier to buy in to the coach’s message when they can say « Here’s a good way to do (x) » and have easily-verifiable examples of them doing it successfully, and making elite careers out of it. It also helps that they seem to be, from all accounts, good communicators in passing on their knowledge. Their presence probably also helps keep the egos of our current players in check, since no matter how good they might think they are, they have to measure directly up with their coaches. Stanley Cups, individual awards, literally thousands of points to catch up to. How many other teams have a coaching staff as highly-decorated as ours?

I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that if you were to put those 5 together to form a unit (Sedin-Sedin-Tocchet/Foote-Gonchar), that’d be the exact way they want the team to play. High skill, but with the ability to grind you down too. Could you imagine going up against those guys as a 5-man unit? It would be hell for the other team.

Also, I love that Zadorov says « we have two Sedins. » One? Pfft. We’ve got TWO.

That Garland slap pass into a goal reminded me of Henrik. I wonder if Henrik’s been coaching that because both he and Garland don’t have the best shot. It makes sense for Garland to master that play.

  20. wundervanbar

I read this and wonder how bad is the Saddledome right now?

  21. johnnyehgiver

Almost like changing the coaching staff and captain made a huge difference to the feeling around the dressing room.
