I’m a wild fan and Gustafson has been the better goalie over the last two years. My opinion on whether or not to be mad depends on Fluery himself. If he wanted to play and they didn’t let him I’d be pretty upset by that. But otherwise to me it’s just the media trying to stir up controversy for clicks. I can totally understand why the Pittsburg fans would be upset though
The NHL really knows how to ignore what's exciting to it's fans. They're almost as bad as baseball managers, who pull pitchers in the middle of a perfect game. Give the fans what they want to see.

i’m sure Marc Andre would have gotten the start if he really wanted it or asked for it. Not really an issue
If it made sense as a coaching decision, I'd be fine with it. But playing what most people consider your 'stonger' goalie against the weaker team in a back-to-back seems a bit defeatist. Like they've given up on the Boston game. Personally, it feels like a petulant child telling the fans that they have no power over him. Eff your moment. In an entertainment industry of all places.
Regardless of the starting G decision, Hynes is the bad guy and that’s something we all can get behind
As a wild fan I just want to see us win and play well. As far as things go I’d like to see Gus get hot before we get too far into the season. Let him work the kinks out now rather than put a veteran goalie on the hot seat, like he hasn’t been there before. Fluery is great, Gus is great. Just need to trust the coaches right now

This is professional sports. Min is playing the 2nd of a back to back tonight, I'm sure they have their reasons for starting their younger better goalie in the front end of said back to back, they just still lost. Maybe they knew tonight it doesn't matter who you start, we're in trouble.

Crosby, Malkin, and Letang probably know all the best ways to score on Fluery. Better decision to win the game by not putting him in.

I think playing in that game would have been hard on him because of his affection for the Pittsburgh fans. We in Minnesota are hoping he'll return for another year. Having said that, I too feel bad for the Pittsburgh fans. We all would have liked to see him play.
Yeah it was LOW-class and pretty cheap from the Wild to not have put Fleury in nets. Complete lack of judgement and disrespect ! They should be ashamed of themselves ! Third tier team..
Pens fans like myself love MAF. But the saying "don't know what you got until it's gone" certainly applies here. So many fans are screaming about how we should have never let him go. Yet if he was still here, they would be trashing him every night just like they do Malkin and Letang for being "too old" or whatever other stupid comment they have. They trash Jarry every night and just ignore the fact that Jarry was the one keeping them in the damn game. It's almost better that he is gone because now those people know what they had.
If Pittsburgh wants to see Fleury play so much, they should have kept him from the expansion draft!

I remember watching the video of Marc-Andre Fluery and his first return to Pittsburgh as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights. Wow! What a reception that he got from the Pittsburgh fans and he was the starting goaltender that night. They had a tribute to him on the jumbotron and he received a standing ovation from the crowd. Wow!
Wild needed a win and when you need a win you have to sit Fleury when playing in Pittsburgh. Hearing cheers from the opposing team's fans would result in him not wanting to disappoint them. He's a really nice guy, perhaps too nice to be an NHL goaltender.
As a hockey fan I wish hockey fans would shut the hell up with the stupid chants.

I was a bit surprised by the decision, too. Gustavson is, by far, the better goaltender in Minnesota, and, you'd think, would be the better option to play against Boston, the next day. Unless, because the team is recovering from a period of struggles and a coaching change, you concede that you'll lose to Boston, and see Pittsburgh and a game that your better goaltender could, possibly win, for you.
I do wish that the Pens had racked up a few more, to chase Gustavson, and then back off against Fleury…kind of a "professional courtesy" thing.
Well, everyone saying it was a bad decision looks pretty stupid now. Fleury just had his best game as a member of the Wild against the Bruins tonight. Absolutely carried. Much happier with a win against the Bruins over a win against the Pens. On another note, Gus played well against the Pens but the Wild defense was porous and they took 50 penalties.
