The more az hockey teams the better
Did they have good attendance? I’m from Prescott, the couple games I went to at their start were packed but I think it died down a lot. I remember reading how the sales team would do crazy shit like bury themselves alive or sit atop a cherry picker basket until people bought enough tickets. Really made it seem like they weren’t doing well haha
Went to a game after winning tickets. I was in Prescott for a conference. Game was fun, good environment. Good Ole Sundogs
I’ve been trying to buy an old sun dogs jersey for years, man I miss them
Anyone remember the mustangs from the 90s? My parents took me to a few games when I was little. I miss minor league hockey
I think Flagstaff could sustain an ECHL team tbh
I’m pretty sure we’re affiliated with the Atlanta Gladiators but bringing the sun dogs back would be awesome
That would honeslty be amazing for the echl the question is if the team has the budget, fans, and succes
During their inaugural season, I was a blackjack dealer at Bucky’s in Prescott. The players and some of the staff would come in frequently and my pit boss got to be friends with their GM. For a promotion, they brought the Cup to the Tim’s Toyota dealership and my pit boss got me into the private event in their show room.
I got to spend an hour with the Cup in a room with maybe 15 people, most of who had no idea what it was. I got the talk to Mike Bolt(one of the keepers), hear stories, and read every name on it.
Did I see a dude with a septum piercing, sitting at glass seats, wearing this jersey? Didn’t know Prescott hosted a team. I’m automatically a fan and need a jersey.
Hell yeah! Back in the day when I was trying to get a job doing literally anything involving hockey I reached out to them about a job. I emailed their equipment manager, his name was Denver and I was supposed to “intern” as an assistant equipment manager for them and then the team folded :/
Great logo.
Wild team off the ice
I loved going to their games as a kid growing up in Prescott! I never knew what was going on with their league or who they were playing against but it was always a ton of fun at the games
There are actually a lot of hockey fans in Flagstaff, Prescott, and Payson that would definitely go to games. The Sundogs were actually pretty popular.
