  1. Of course they did. They're 4 games under .500. Last year the Islanders got the 2nd Wild Card by being 11 games over .500.
    At this point of the season, you wanna be like 4 or 5 games over. So they'd need to win like 9 in a row to get back on track.

    For the Senators to make it now, they'd need to get around 73 out of the next 112 points.
    That's .651 hockey. Or to put it another way, they need to play like a 107 point team from now until the end of the season.

    Forget it! It's over. Smith needed to be fired in like early November, if they wanted any chance to salvage this.

  2. No they didnt wait too long. I think Jacques had to properly analyse this roster and what needed to be done before telling Staios he knows what he needs to do, and it lined up to what we saw on this road trip and they fired DJ and Jacques can get straight to work to get ready for the second half of the season.

  3. Brady was given the C way too early. Give it to Claude Giroux. Brady is a petulant 8 year old fighting 4th liners.
