  1. It's funny what you remember in life. I was born and raised in LA, a young Vietnamese American in Upland, CA. Somehow, I fell in love with hockey, and especially the LA Kings. I became a die-hard fan in 1991, collecting all the hockey cards, my favorite players. Watched when I could, followed them by newspapers since it was rare the Kings were on national TV and I didn't have cable/prime ticket. Then, when I was 14, they made the cup finals. I remember watching this on ESPN as the game was happening live. And I remember game 5 vividly, specifically the montage song at the end with Patrick Roy winking to the camera. The song had captured the entire playoffs feeling, to include each teams run to the cup. The song remained stuck in my head, but since it had no lyrics, I had no idea how to search for it. All I knew was that it was from ESPN Game 5, at the end. With the invention of the internet and subsequently Youtube, I began my search for this elusive episode, every few months seeing if anyone had uploaded the ESPN game 5 since I was looking for the song at the end of the program. Finally, on a random search, I discovered this video you uploaded. I quickly forwarded it to the end, and there it was, the song that had been stuck in my mind since I was 14. I am 41 now, and the circle is now complete. I have finally heard the song again after more than 27 years of searching. I thank you!!!!

  2. I was at this game. Thank you for posting it.
BTW are all ESPN broadcasts still like this? The camerawork is awful! All this zooming in

  3. Playoff St-Patrick Roy is the best and most valuable player, regardless of position, ever.

Gimme playoff Roy over Orr, Gretz and Lemieux any day.

  4. Gary Thorne proved that Americans are new to hockey and was sadly misinformed about Canadiens having six different names. The AHA, Victorias, Shamrocks, Victorias, and Maroons were completely different clubs and had nothing to do with Canadiens.
