UPDATE: Following this recording Bryan Rust skated prior to the Pittsburgh Penguins morning skate. Rust's injury is still considered week-to-week and he cannot return until January 2nd at the earliest. However, a positive sign as the Penguins forward returns to the ice for the first time since being injured!
guentzel in a trade for one of the tkachuks would be great
I hate to say this but Malkin needs to be traded! He continues to turn the puck over and tried to go through 3 defenders at the blue line. He takes a ton of penalties and put us on the back foot every game!
if guentzel is traded i will sob
Don’t trade Guentz. Pay him his money and make him a 2nd line center.
Shelter Geno. Im beginning to think he’s better suited at 3rd line center. He hasn’t been able to adjust to changes in the league like Sid. Let Geno try and play his possession game against lesser competition.
Jake is a 1st and a prospect at the deadline.
Trading Guentzel would be a bad idea. I see when Crosby retires, then yeah, pull the trigger.
Guys, explore trading for Kuzmenko while he's on the downslope and available
Would Guentzel ever be as good as he has been without Crosby?I'd like to think not. With that being said, if Jake does get traded, it would be nice to see if Crosby could do the same with another young winger, and if anybody steps up and takes that opportunity.
I like guenztel, but 10 mill is a lot, especially when sid only makes 8.7, malkin and letang only make 6.1
NO WAY Guentzel is going ANYWHERE
If you’re out of the playoffs, Jake isn’t re-signed and you can get a 1st plus, then there is nothing wrong with trading Jake for a rental and just re-signing him as a UFA.
Would not think of trading Jake, Malkin, Letang (Sid is untouchable) unless we are woeful and way out of a playoff spot. Even in that worse case I'd be hesitant to move any core player until Dubas has at least one more offseason to upgrade the club. I have a strong feeling we will get a serious roll when Rust gets back.
Sid better not ever get traded!
Nick's here is a real question. Could we trade jake as a rental if we are out of the playoffs. And then turn around and sign him as a free agent during the summer? Not sure if theres a legality issue or not but that could be benificial for both sides.
I don’t think jake goes anywhere until 87 is in the rafters
Geno will get it going and I'm fine seeing this core ride off in the sunset together . That being said Geno is my second favorite player behind Sid.
