Byram and Rants have been the most noticeable problem to me. But as a team, mental lapses and turnovers galore… Even Mack has taken a couple shifts off…. to be fair, they are being overplayed, but generally, we are just lacking focus for brief minutes, and this been burning us because the goalies have not been able to bail out the boys

    *edit* shifts not shits hahahaha

They need to absolutely beat Ottawa into a greasy stain tonight.

The Sens are terrible, and the Avs need to be angry.

I caught a lot of flack in a « what if » trade thread for saying I’d be looking at trading Byram as he’s trending — but I’ll give it until the end of the season just to satisfy my critics.

Need Gabe back asap for Christmas. Let him skate for 1 untouched minute a night and let him provide the structure to the locker room.

  5. He isn’t wrong, but the criticism I’m seeing towards Toews is just taking what he said lightyears out of context.

He was vocally stating that there are a bunch of guys not playing into the teams system and wanting to do things their way and not the teams way. He specifically said it was causing more turnovers because the D are looking up the ice, expecting dudes to be where they are supposed to, and they just aren’t there.

Devon is by far and away one of the best defenders in the league and I fully believe him and Cale are the best top pairing in history. The dude knows what he is talking about.

I’ve been saying for a year that if Landy doesn’t come back (but please, please come back!!), Toews needs the C.
Dudes a rock and even tho he keeps his cool and doesn’t rock the boat, he clearly will speak out when needed.

I know I’m on the outside looking in and I’m not trying to trivialize their problems, but these are grown men playing a game for millions of dollars. It’s a team sport, listen to the coach and captains and play like a team, check your ego at the door. If the egos are coming from the core team, that’s not an easy problem to fix, if they are coming from the new guys, Bednar should be slapping down that stupidity during practices.

I’m not too worried about this team. We have a lot of younger guys, but also a good amount of veterans that know what needs to be done. This core always goes through a weird stretch. The year they won the cup I believe they did as well.

They’ll be fine. Through an 82 game season things work themselves out and they’ll end up near the top. They’ll clean up what needs to be cleaned up and come late January/February we will see avalanche hockey back to rocking
