Mckee another "L" take on Goalies as usual. Goalies can play until 39 easily just because Jones is 34 doesn't mean he can't lead the leafs to a cup. With or without woll. You can't just say with 100% confidence "we all know what this is" Jones took SJ to a cup and he can do it again. hes solid fundamental goalie. But just cus Mckee said it wont happen now I think it will. cuz my guy always wrong.
How about sit Matthews and see what the boys can do….
We have to remember that Knies is getting his first taste of an 82 game schedule. He was used to an NCAA schedule, which is a lot different. He'll adjust, and be fine, give him time. My concern is that Leaf Nation is going to pile on to him heavy at times, which won't help his development.

Although its not even a defined stat, the 50 in 50 is from start of season first 50 games played. BUT the 50 in a 50 game stretch is still a goal per game pace for 50 games and is basically impossible and only done a handful of times in history. JD is completely wrong saying if it was another market noone would care in TO. Hockey fans would totally care. If Laine was doing it it would be on sportsnet every night for sure. Its so incredibly rare!
The Keefe quote wasnt a big deal. Sam literally did what he said he didnt want to do.. he quoted exact but removed context and the full convo. Keefe was making a point that Matthews is great and his scoring pace is pretty much unscathed with either winger. But when Nylander is with JT and Bert theyve been often the best line all year.. showcased once again last Saturday when they were reunited for 1 game with AM out… which also just happened to be the last game they won.

Yeah Matthews looked like he is supposed to to be a leader. There was a difference which tells us he is cruising too often. He needs more Nylander play making in his game.

On Thursday b4 the game got out of hand, i said to a friend, they got to switch Nylander and Marner. Nylander can easily drive his own line now and Tavares-Bertuzzi really needed what he brings. I also thought Mitch's game had improved and he was ready to go back with Auston.
Was pleasantly surprised when I saw the starting lineups. Both lines played very well tonite
The only goal Martin Jones let in last night against Columbus was a breakaway goal. Nearly a shutout from their grizzled veteran goalie. Very impressive.

Just wanted to pop in and say you guys are the best and have really helped me dive more into the game and into the Leafs in particular. I usually listen to the podcast but I always get jealous when you’re talking about videos because I can’t watch and drive 😅 but I got a chance to watch this one on YouTube and it was a treat!!!
I’ve gone from barely paying attention to hockey to humoring my bf while he watches the Leafs to now watching almost every game and quoting your podcast at him all the time 🤣 I’m sure you’ve made his life more fun!!!
