@Rangers de New York

8 ans plus tard, c’est toujours irréel.

  1. It's still tough for me to say. Zib and krider really jelled. But not to diminish Z but I don't consider him a #1C. If so prob bottom 15. He plays on the best PP with Arty and Fox. Not to mention krider is a beast in front of the net. Let's just say u put an Aho,Petterson, and Hintz in front of him. I feel like he on the same level as a Coture. More scoring ya but this is like a player that needs the 1a 1b combo…

Brassard was a vital piece in NY. He even beat NY in the playoffs so, points sure Z wins but overall production I still think OTT won the trade. Long term sure Z, but in those 3 years I think OTT got what they needed for that short period of time. The only team really to win the cup with a scoring Center is TB…. we had Anze,Towes, Crosby. More of the twf Ply fwd combo is the way u need to go…

  2. As a Canuck fan since 1970 I can say with authority never trade away young talent for short term success . It leaves your team wallowing for years at a time . Can I say Cam Neely .

  3. The Brassard for Mika trade was a great trade. So many Rangers fans were up in arms when Jeff Gorton traded Brassard. The Rangers traded the 2nd to the Red Wings for Brendan Smith.

  4. As a habs fan there’s a few that come to mind

    Ryan McDonagh for Scott Gomez

    Mikhail Sergachev for Jonathan Drouin
    (yikes 🫣)

    But most of all,
The habs trading 2 second round picks to the Chicago Blackhawks for Andrew Shaw.

One of those picks would become…
    Alex DeBrincat.

  5. Please don't hold the Rangers up as paragons of shrewdness. As a longtime fan I can remember Phil Esposito missing his old Boston drinking buddies and getting the front office to trade for Ken Hodge (who had less than 100 games left in him). And they only had to give up 22-year-old Rick Middleton for the honor. Jeez, I wonder what ever happened to him?

  6. Yea there was this goalie may of turned out to be pretty good by the name of Bobby Lu. Traded him for a ham sandwich so we can sign Rick DiPietro to a 15 year deal

  7. New York Rangers again, the Scott Gomez for McD trade was an absolute steal. Gomez was under performing and had a massive anchor of contract and the Rangers managed to flip him for Montreal's top defense prospect who turned into a golden player.

  8. I know a lot of people will say Hall for Larsson is the worst, but honestly, Forsberg for Erat has to take the cake. Like at least Larsson is a good top 4 D

  9. Rangers fan here. That was a phenomenal trade, an absolute steal!! on the flip side, have to call out Drury for one of his few mistakes, trading away Pavel Buchnevich.

  10. As a Hawks fan, the Panarin trade still stings. Really any trade bowman made receiving former Hawks from the cup winning teams

  11. This man makes a video on mika for one game while when the kings broke tied the record for 11 Road wins to start the season he was nowhere to be found. I’m tired of being a hockey fan and never having any respect on my team. I feel like nobody cares about the kings because we’re in LA, every eastern team and Canadian team like the bruins, rangers, oilers, canucks, and etc. are all talked about constantly for whatever reason but my team gets no love.

  12. Another Ranger trade comes to mind from 2009. NYR gave 30 yo Scott Gomez to Montreal for a 20 yo prospect Ryan McDonaugh. McDonaugh quickly developed into a top 5 defenceman in the league at that time, became the Rangers captain for a couple years, and eventually became a multy Stanley cup winner with Tampa. Although Gomez had a great career, his stint in Montreal was not nearly as impactful. Gomez had a 60 game scoring drought with the Canadians, multiple long term injuries, and was eventually traded in 2012 completing the final years of his career bouncing around NHL and AHL teams.

  13. Non Sens fans forget that even though it was a long term steal, the year that Brassard joined the Sens they ended up having an insane cup run. They lost in double OT of game 7 in the conference finals against the Penguins who went on to easily win the cup in the next round.

  14. That’s why I said keep chytil lafrenière and kakko. It was too soon to move on from them at such a young age.

  15. Ottawa has a well-known history of making trades that didn't age well. Chara was one of the worst.

  16. I remember rangers fans being pissed when this went down 😂. Ottawa lost the trade the minute it happened

  17. 1) It was a pre-emptive cap dump. The Senators (or Melnyk) were not going to pay him so might as well get a veteran centerman to replace him in Brassard.
Ottawa was 1 OT goal away of going to the Stanley Cup final with Brassard after the trade. Ottawa also got Gustavsson, a 1rst and 3rd for flipping Brassard 2 years later. Follow the trade tree down, the Senators still have JBD and Sogaard from it. So it's not a complete wash.

  18. You have to go WAY back in time for this one, but how about the 1979 Canucks trade for great scrapper but average player Tiger WIlliams? Along with him they received Jerry Butler, and for the privilege they surrendered their first round picks in '78 and '79, BIll Derlago and RIck Vaive. Yes, the Canucks would go on to a Cup final in '82, but both those young guys, despite their sketchy reputations, would go on to have long productive careers. The mind reels at the historical stupidity of this franchise.
