@Islanders de New York

Le point perdant de la LNH est-il bon ou mauvais pour les Islanders de New York et que dit-il sur l’équipe ?

  1. Thank you Gil great job 👍🏼, islanders fans don’t get your self all gassed up about Paul Miss the Net he’s been tossed from tryouts and at the end of the day he’s not one hair on Butch, Butch gets huge respect 15 trophies and awards from Lady Bing to 4 Stanley Cups, over time points look for the good you’ll find it, look for the bad you’ll find that too, I look at it as a positive, Maple Leafs lost Buffalo scored 9 goals 3×3 lol, time for Lamarillo to make a monster move, and trade 2 defenseman and Wahlstrom to Toronto for a goal scorer, hopefully the team buckles down and ends the month with winning games. LETS GO ISLANDERS !!!

  2. 3rd place with more losses than wins, and more goals against than goals for. Don't let the standings fool you. This year's team is not very good. A borderline playoff team again with a probable 1st round exit if they make it.

  3. I always felt they should just play sudden death like the playoff and get rid of the point system

  4. Biz is a clown, and he knows it. I'm surprised Butch even engages with him. All Butch has to do is start talking stats. Biz played just 202 games in 6 years and had a grand total 22 points.
    But I do agree with Biz on how boring the Islanders got under Trotz. Trotz' all defense style got to the point he turned 3 on 3 into a boring embarrassment. It's taken Lane a full year to get these guys scoring again and the prospects are finally making progress. Lets see how his plan goes once our defense is whole again, because this team still isn't ready for a deep run. I hope it comes together THIS year, because this group doesn't have a lot of productive years left.
    As far as loser points go, I think you're right about the league liking how tight it makes the divisional races. For me, who you get that point against is what matters. Getting to a regulation tie against a team that should have beaten you is a point well earned, IMO. If it's against a team we should have beaten in regulation, it's a cheap one.

  5. Great show Gil. Did you see the article about how the isles could play their outdoor games in Montauk ? 😂 Me tinks the writer has been nipping on someone’s cough syrup !

  6. great topic gil!! sending this to my buddy AL!!!!!! always talks about the loser point! hates it!

  7. They are hard to beat 5 on 5 ..where would they stand if you measure only games that end in regulation? Obviously this would mean ignoring OT games but just to get a sense vs others

  8. Good morning team. Gil, excellent episode! I agree with everything point you were making. Remember way back? Hockey regular season was 84 games, if you won it was 2 points. If you tie each team received 1 point. No OT and no shoot out. I remember telling one of my friends during that time, all you need to do it tie every game and you could make the playoffs with 84 points. This point system, if you get to 84 points, there is no way you'll make the playoffs, unless your team was in a horrible conference. Biz and Butch seem to be having fun to me. At least I hope that is what it is. I can't believe another calendar year is about to end. This year went extremely fast. Have a great weekend! Everyone have a Happy and safe holiday! If you're traveling, please be very careful. The Hurricanes are on our radar for tomorrow. I won't be back until Tuesday. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  9. Look at how they had to scratch and claw for every point at the end of last season,so much so Sorokin was burnt. It all matters.

  10. I remember Stefan Persson and Thomas Jonnson. Kenny Morrow. Potvin. Loved our defense core back in the great days. I was a child.

  11. there is also a certain amount of luck..bottom line they lost 9 games in OT but they completely out played washington and there were 4 or 5 other games same thing…giving up leads in the 3rd period is another thing which im hoping that problem was solved now…bottom line again they are where i didnt expect them to be this year..they deserve it and im happy for them..they finally just shut up and are just playing hockey…last thing is things have a way of evening out soooo the next 8 OT's we will win…..HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

  12. Good stuff , sir…Well they’re not winning in regulation but they’re not losing either which is just as important… They haven’t been getting whipped in alot of games, matter of fact the been winning into the 3rd often and blowing it. I don’t know if it’s conditioning or mind set but it can be improved. I think the parity and the talent in the league are state of the art and teams can easily blow a 3 goal lead in minutes if they get lazy. I wish the Isles were an elite regular season team but they’re not… Soo they’ll have to try and buy a ticket to the dance and see what happens… Good day

  13. Loser pts. are for losers. Only non elite teams like isles need otl pts. for survival. Why reward teams like isles an extra pt. when they can't hold third period two-three goal leads? Pre-bettman's 2005 post lock-out gimmick if you blew third periods leads you went to ot. You lost in ot no point for you. Teams couldn't just blow leads sit back and play for extra point. And in isles case it keeps a fringe playoff team in a playoff spot. Without the nine loser pts. isles would be in 10th out of a playoff spot so in isles case sol loser pts. are good for isles as they get rewarded for third period breakdowns and stay in playoff spot. And going to 3×3 ot has turned into nba version of stall as teams just circle back and forth out of zone for five minutes looking for one fast break to win content with pt. willing to go to so to win. nhl has their elite teams, avg. teams (isles), and bad teams. No bettman loser points can disguise that one. 2 pts. reg W. 3×3 for two pts. Teams take their one pt. and go home with no score. Teams would be more aggressive to win as most games would be decided that way-no silly skills competition needed. s o's/3 pt. games are so 2005 and so bettmanization of nhl gimmicks he thinks are cool that aren't and serve no real purpose outside of inflating bettman's huge ego and overall point totals. In 2007 s o saved teddy nolan isles. Had to go to s o in nj last game needing 2 pts. to make playoffs. Without the so 2 pts. they settle for one pt. and miss playoffs. One case when s o benefits a team. And isles head to another 5 year re-build after that playoff-a final fk u to the milbury ruins.

  14. Well, if it wasn’t for Sorokin we lose this game against a 3rd-string goalie that couldn’t stop a beachball! We won tonight against Carolina but as we used to say when I was playing. “That was a terrible win!” We can’t keep playing this type of hockey and expect you to win the SC. I’m *in it for the SC this season! Why not? We have the players to win a SC. Unfortunately, I knew it but I wasn’t saying it, but I’m going to say it now. “The coaching is terrible and if we need to do something drastic like fire our defensive coordinator? so be it, because it can’t keep go on like this!” If Carolina had a really good AHL goalie tonight? We would have lost.
