I am once again asking, even begging, Morgan Rielly to take the pass in a 2v1 situation

  2. dober12345

Whatever. Couple of bounces either way and it’s a different game. We’re not gonna play well every night. Come April we’ll be in the playoffs and they’ll be two points further out from a good draft pick

  3. RestartNick

Once the graphic came up that said Ottawa was ranked 31st in the penalty kill, it was game over

  4. Ambarsariyaaa

16 dances around gives a few sens players head nods does nothing of consequence and calls it a night

  5. leafman4000

    Treliving to do list 2024

    A goalie

    Two top 4 defencemen

    A middle six winger

  6. Volderon90

This was a loss before it began. Black jerseys, Ottawa, at home, after the Christmas break, Ottawa losing 5 games on the road in a row, Brady K 1 point away from 300

  7. Samurai1221

Home game against a bottom 5 team with a new coach, we didn’t stand a chance!

  8. Movieandtvfan

This team and core are just natural losers. They play down to opponents that they’re supposed to destroy. Losing games to Columbus, Chicago and Ottawa? Fucking pathetic, it’s why no one takes the us seriously. Where is the kill will?

  9. You could trade anyone on this team tomorrow and it would not bother me. Changes need to happen, else it’s just a circle of shit

  10. blakezed

honestly, i hate it cuz its the sens and this is their super bowl but at the end of the day we got goalie’d and the leafs played mid, but not awful. come out better next one see ya next game

  11. raiinacorn

Pissed at myself for thinking it would be different this time.

  12. PhilMcCraken2001

So many sloppy plays in this game. Coaching staff needs to be fired outta a canon.

  13. Wanderson90

What is our record with those jerseys, I can’t imagine it’s a winning one.

  14. incredibad29

I didn’t think the Leafs were that bad, it was just Ottawa scored on all their chances and a fluke goal.

  15. StaticR0ute

Leafs in their black and blue jerseys, playing and bottom feeder who just recently fired their coach? It was pretty clear a loss was coming (unfortunately).

  16. dwnumber1

I think it’s time to trade robby we need a dman and when did mccabe become our best offensive d lily needs to step up in his playmaking.

  17. jokerjoust

What is our record wearing the black jerseys? Every time I see they are wearing them I think they’re going to lose

  18. toedragrelease

Good thing there’s no bottom feeder teams in the playoffs… right………….. right? 😅

Always seem to play down to bad teams. Then we stomp the Rangers not long ago.

    Fuck that game was embarrassing.

  19. Mango2149

One bounce the other way and it could have been a very different game. Doomers gota chill.

  20. Chopstickz91

Played a great 1st period and just mailed it in the rest of the game. Lazy and unmotivated hockey. They need a coach that can motivate them and have them play the full 60 minutes every game.

  21. Disappointing the next generation. Very fitting.

    Fucking hate this team sometimes.

  22. MOshow1967

How do you trade more assets to add to a disastrous team like this lol. Marner has been worse than bad this year, and his NMC kicked in July 1st. What a fucking misstep by this organization yet again.

  23. CamThompson

Losing sucks and blowing a lead sucks, but like, this wasn’t that bad. We played alright, had lots of good chances that just didn’t go in, and their winning goal was unlucky gaffe.

This wasn’t Buffalo 9-3, or some massive collapse. Some good moments in there even. Shit happens, on to Columbus on Friday. 50 games to go.

  24. NatureGivesAndTakes

If you were to ask someone who doesn’t follow the Leafs to guess their record based on reddit comments after a loss, they’d think the team was at the bottom of the standings.

This year I really think I’ve reached my point of greatest apathy as a fan. More than any other season I’ve just been feeling like it’s the same shit year after year.

As I get older and my free time gets more and more valuable I just question how often I want to devote my entire evening to watching this knowing that nothing really has changed in over half a decade. It’s like watching repeats of a TV show but every episode is 2.5 hours long and makes me mad.

I’ve watched BY FAR the fewest games this year since I was a kid and nights like tonight when I do tune in I’m reminded why.

  26. Cheap-Employee-8484

I’m not usually a negative guy in the gdt, but this was the most frustrating game I’ve seen in a while. (I suppressed the Buffalo game). Honestly, Bert is an anchor on whatever line he’s on, some of the worst hands I’ve seen in the league.

  27. Game-83-and-on

Marner mailed it in. What a hump.

The -2 is just that, the 2 is SOG, 50% on the draws.

Thanks for coming out Mitch. 🙁

    16 M. Marner 0 0 0 -2 0 0 0 2 50% 22:51

  28. Significant_News_638

    Marner is having such a tough year to evaluate. His point totals aren’t bad at all, so on surface he looks more than fine. However, he just doesn’t look the same and the numbers back it up (per Natural Stat Trick);

Tavares this year with Marner – 45.56% expected goals share. Tavares with Nylander – 57.8% expected goal share.

Matthews with Marner – 49.8% expected goal share with. With Nylander – 53.9% expected goal share.

Both lines produce less with Marner. Tonight, the Matthews / Marner line was at ~40% xGF against a bottom feeder team.

He’s still highly skilled and more than capable of putting up points / making those flashy plays. However overall, the puck is just in their end alot more when hes on the ice than in other years. Really odd season.

  29. Showtime98

Played so good in the first period just to shit the bed in the next two #leafshockey

  30. Either-Skill3330

Game wasn’t that bad. Just wish some times our core would be more physical. Nothing like seeing three leafs in the corner trying to stick battle one Ottawa player. Like holy shit someone take the the body and the other two can get the puck wtf
