That ain’t good.
It was such an idiotic decision to put him in. The game was over, so why risk this and have both goalies be unrested for today? Varly would be starting tonight if he didn’t play on Wednesday
I didn’t want to jinx it by saying it aloud but the amount the teams been leaving the goalies to fend for themselves with little to no help at times I felt it wasn’t going to do our goalies any favors in so many ways.
I felt sick also watching that game
A struggling Sorokin or Ken Appleby is not ideal.
I feel like it’s very results based analysis where putting in your backup in a blowout where the goalie and the team didn’t have it happens all the time and is unremarked upon. The only criticism here is that Varlamov got injured, which is unfortunate but could have happened whenever.
Fuck it, put in Appleby against the Caps. Maybe the Isles rookie goalie curse can be passed to another team.
That was a real tough one to watch.
