How many wheels have fallen off this Leafs team semi? Now tied with other Wildcard team points – will this Marner & Matthews duo surprise everyone by not even making the playoffs this spring? To remain positive – this Leafs core at least regularly makes the playoffs. But that could change maybe?
Too many clumsy hot potatoes by our captain, Liljegren is just a turnover waiting to happen at the wrong time, Samsonov is the goaltender and the soul of the team and he is reaching. The chemistry is off because they are worried about losing (because of suspect goaltending).

So? Is this Church League Hockey? Community College Hockey? Are we looking to give players, coaches, GM's of The Leafs "accommodations" and grief counselling? Unfortunately, if you are an actual Toronto Maple Leaf fan… you should ask your doctor for a referral to a behavioural psychologist and discuss your passion for dysfunctional / co-dependent relationships? I'm sorry, but the goal falls a lot more on Nylander than Samsonov. You can clearly see he gives the puck away off the face-off. And Tavares has to take as much responsibility too; he completely lost track of Gaudreau, who snuck in and scored.
Nylander has a goal but defensively was very bad -3, Tavares is always atrocious in OT was -2 in the game
in order for Samsonov or any goalie to succeed in Toronto, the effort on both ends and in the neutral zone would have to change. we seen form this cast of players it is not going to happen. this is likely a one and done team again in the post season. they cannot beat Boston or Florida in 7. they likely dont get the top seed in the division either to dodge one of those bullets.
Morgan has to play a smarter game on D. He looks good offensively, but D zone coverage needs to improve.
