  1. the offense was brutal. I am surprised they had that many shots on net…the offense has no structure. cant get it over the blue line and cant get it out over the blue line in there zone. letting teams walk into there end and get great chances. Marner looked really soft tonight and made tons of mistake giving up pizzas everywhere! not the first time seeing this from marner this year…

  2. Steve, your assessment of Marner is unhinged. Get a grip. If they had the opportunity to trade him when they could, the Leafs would have 2 middling players in their line up in stead of a star right winger. Wake up.

  3. fook the last time i went to a stanley cup parade was in toronto in 1967-fk-iam getting old—i need a cold canadian beer.

  4. Leafs need a culture change. No accountability. Take a risk and scratch the stars if called for regardless of cap hit. Look at the canucks we scratched kuzmenko who was a 39 goal scorer. Dont let the players call the shots

  5. It wasn’t a bad effort from the Leaf players in tonight’s game, they just got plain checked right into the ice by the Hurricanes. They couldn’t get an inch of space and a second of time to execute. When a team has you pegged, like the Canes had the Leafs tonight, in my estimation the only way to compete is either with jet engine speed and maybe some great stretch passes to blow the doors off the defenders, or to play physical as hell against the close checking to cause hesitation (like Domi’s hit in the O-zone corner midway through the third, a bunch more of that would have created space in there). The Leafs aren’t that physical team ever, and they couldn’t muster the speed to break free in this game. They have traded away many of their fastest guns over the last many years, … Kasperi Kapanen, Ilya Mikheyev, Sam Lafferty, Michael Bunting etc. From where I sit it appears as though most teams in the league have worked out the Leafs skill MO, and thus employ an very affective ‘in your face’ close checking with ‘zero time to execute’ or ‘space to breath’ game plan.

  6. My son and I literally sat around making Leroy Jenkins references just hours before this video. That is why Steve is awesome!

  7. Marner took a puck to the jaw causing 12 stitches, returned and played well plus he has more combined points over the last 3 seasons than Mathews, Tavares and Nylander. Look it up and do the math. Look here, I’m a Bruins fan and we have 2 quality goalies and a really good prospect in net in our system. I’d love Marner on the B’s. Underrated grit with a ton of skill. Take a piece of the his contract and let’s make the deal yeah?

  8. You see how you say "you can't scratch the core guys". Thats exactly why you scratch them. You are showing that they have no need to work hard since they "can't be scratched". F THAT. Sit a core guy your bottom 6 will never skate harder, and your other core guys will say holy shit I gotta actually show up.

  9. I just get the feeling Keefe is running out of runaway to get this team off the merry go round… Something has to change , there's a goalie issue, defensive issues and 3rd & 4th line issues… There is so much firepower and they are getting points but the team feels like it is sputtering for some weird reason…

  10. Brodie….Brodie….Brodie…..Brodie…..there's a name EVERYONE is saying, Steve! Brodie, Brodie, Brodie, the man who refuses to BACKCHECK! The image of the second goal the Canes scored, remind me who that number 78 is and also happens to be the ONLY guy in a stand-up position while everyone, including Mitch, are hunched over trying to skate after the puck?

  11. I dont understand Sheldons hard on for pulling the goalie as early as possible without any regard for whats happening on the ice.

  12. Mitch Marner to Minnesota for Marc-Andre Fleury with necessary salary retention to make it happen.

I recognize how crazy that sounds but i can dream lol. I think both teams could benefit.

  13. Instead of a blue room tour, how about starting or ending a show with a fact or thought about a piece from the wall of the blue room.

  14. i might be biased because im a frenchy but goodness me, Simon Benoit is doing a freaking amazing job.
He defends well, lays out big hits, isn't afraid to get into a scrum….all positives for me.

  15. Marner's body language was terrible, there was one play on a power play they got in the 3rd period and Marner turned it over twice in like 5 seconds and then stood there watching Carolina skate down the ice

  16. Just tell me why? Why can you not scratch or replace JT ?

It's been a thing for years on sdp(n) he's us a non option to move on from.

Notes , bring a ppg player also had you chasing mitch for bring on the line up

  17. Brodie has been absolutely dreadful this season. The guy might not have a single completed pass thus far, AT LEAST not tape to tape.
    Turnovers galore, no physicality.

You feel for him because of the early season personal issues but man, it’s BAD.

  18. Why is it impossible to trade mitch. Thats why there is a gm and why they get paid well. Do your job

  19. The culture on the Leafs is that the highest paid players don't really have to be accountable because they know they won't be scratched no matter what they do….

  20. It’s not the personnel on the D. Its the entire structure of their D zone. They are one of the only teams who look lost most of the time when under pressure. It never seems like the forwards know who to cover, or where to go when they aren’t covering the puck. The D men don’t know where their outlets are going to be. It’s been that way for a decade or more. It makes no sense.

  21. The Leafs are a perfect .500 team. 10 wins, 7 OT wins, 7 OT losses, 10 losses. 34 games, 41 points.
And the gap between 4th and 12th in the conference… is 6 points. I don't think the Leafs will miss the playoffs, but… this is dangerously close.

  22. Well i don't say that Samii is on his top but also i really couldn't say he is to blame for everything… By the same logic if you watch todays tampa vs rangers you could say that tampa has a goalie problem 😅😁

  23. Passion! Hard to follow, a play by play!! A true lFR. Thanks Mr dangle xo.

Question. What is the fix? A goalie and a new forward? A forward and a new dee? New dee and a goalie? Or new coach and let him decide?
