How about an added 'DANG IT!' on Markstrom for being frozen by a guy who had 3 goals going into that game.
Pretty sure he didn’t do it intentionally, he was trying to sweep the stick so he could intercept the pass, he whiffed on his first attempt and panicked trying to sweep it out of the way again right when the defencemen was about to make the pass. DANG IT STEVE
God that penalty shot goal was a pretty one…..
He pushed the stick before Fowler even starts his motion to pass. Bad call.

I remember when this happened, possibly the most infuriating thing someone on the team did all season. Like, what the fuck was he thinking? That no one would notice? That taking another penalty or a penalty shot was worth it to block a *blue line D to D pass*? Jesus Christ, glad he's gone, what a moron.
Can you imagine the Canucks dressing room after that? Yeeeeesh

Consider a few games prior, Khudobin threw his stick as a “poke-check” attempt on an Elias Pettersson penalty shot, and got away with it. Granlund probably thought he could as well.

I love the shooting equipment at a player/puck penalties when watching with non-hockey fans. The "Whoa what happened? Why the whistle? You can't do that? It's a penalty shot?!" is so fun
Why don’t the refs immediately pick up a broken stick and toss it on the bench?
