  1. No offence to Gio but if Benoit is our 3rd pair LD we’re in decent shape. If Benoit is on our 2nd pair then we’re playing with fire.

    Good signing regardless.

Marner appreciation too. I believe he was the first man in when Matthews went down.

  3. Love this dude, exactly what you want out of a bottom pair defenseman. He’s still young enough that I think he’ll get better given time to develop, hope they can keep him in the lineup.

Dual headlock dragging guys out of a pile was something I haven’t seen a Leaf do before, at least with that much authority.

2 guys in a headlock chanelling his inner Buff

I’ll admit that I was very wrong on him during camp. He seemed like a slow ass plug who would be a massive black hole if he ever touched the ice in meaningful games. I still don’t think he’s more than a 3rd pair guy at best, and we shouldn’t pay him much more than minimum if/when we do re-sign him, but he’s done a great job filling his role and should definitely get his flowers for that.

The best part is that he is just getting comfortable in his new enforcer type role and he is really liking it! But not nearly as much as we are liking it!! GLG!

I was out walking my dog one night a few months ago and saw Benoit step out of a car and walk into the building next to mine. Had no idea who he was at the time but took note because he had a big Leafs trunk and a stack of hockey sticks, so I figured he was part of the Leafs somehow.

I definitely know who he is now!

Can we adopt him from Quebec and call him Benjamin Simon?

    Chris Simon who?

Best thing to happen to the leafs in a long time! McMann and McCabe as well. But because the leafs are shit at recognizing under developed potential they will let them all walk.

This guy reminds me of Agent Steve Murphy from narcos.

I could definitely see Benoit sticking in when we go 11/7 against a hard forecheck team.

Hell yah, I really hope he plays into the staying line up.
