Score: 5 – The Devils seems right on the cusp of being out of contention. But the season is starting to be over. So right now I’m at a 5, I wish they could just push a bit harder and get to where they need to be. I hate the Metro division so much.

I think this meter is going to be put through the wringer this season. The metro is so tight that the playoffs will come to down to a 1 or 2 game difference.

I can’t argue with a 5. Every game seems like it could go either way. The season as a whole feels the same.

I miss last year when we were really just competing for first place

Being in the metro is not a good excuse. Devils would be well above playoff line with wins against Sharks, Blue Jackets, and Ducks

It’s been a rough season so far… New Year, new Devils?

On CBS’s latest power rankings, which have devils 14th. This stat is nuts.

Perhaps no team needs a goaltending upgrade more than the Devils. They rank dead last in the NHL with a team save percentage of 87.9%, and that is despite ranking 13th in xGA/60 at 3.04. The team is playing well enough to battle for a Metro Division title, but the goaltending continues to cough up winnable games. Vitek Vanecek has been especially bad with a -11.9 goals saved above average that ranks 82nd among all goalies.
