  1. What about Karlson giving up TOO many turnovers in our own end of the Ice? He's given up several PLAYS for the opposite Team. On some of them I'm thinking what was he thinking and how did he expect to get it there 🤔? Being careless with the puck in our end! Haven't been 💯 in on his Play!!!?? What do you think about his careless passing???

  2. Im going to preface this by saying, Ludvig isn't in Wilson's league. That being said, why sit him out of the lineup in a game that has the chance to be very physical? Ludvig has been playing well, why sit him? Not the reason we lost, and most likely wouldn't have changed the outcome, but why sit out someone like this in a potentially heavy game. I get it besides Wilson, there isn't a lot of jam with the caps also, but I still would rather him in the lineup.

  3. It's been a long time since I've been legitimately angry with the Pens, but this takes the cake. Losing, at home, to a team that is struggling mightily to score goals, after going 7-1-1 in its last nine and needing to make up ground to even enter the playoff conversation….by falling behind 4-0. And without missing a beat, what is the narrative on the fan forums? "Oh, here we go again with Jarry." Do people really think this was Jarry's fault? And not sheer laziness and a lack of urgency on the part of the entire team? Tell me, please – someone – what is the compositional difference between your Pens, and the Bruins? You might even say on paper the Pens are better, right? But they're at the top and the Pens aren't. Attitude and urgency is what's missing.

  4. That 1st period was a total team effort in how to not start/play a hockey game and it's become a Penguins trademark anymore. Like they take the ice after a relaxing Swedish massage, some Tai Chi and aromatherapy and their brains are still in Shangri-La. The Graves issue aside, when the best line you have going for the 1st 15 minutes is the one with Carter on it, those other players have no business collecting an NHL paycheck and should probably donate their pro-rated 1st period earnings to charity or something. But this is exactly how they've been playing these games against teams they need to beat for the past couple seasons. A win could have jumped them ahead of the Caps in the standings and put them in wildcard seeding (depending on what the other teams did that night) and yet they approached it with all the urgency of a Gen Z silent quitter working a fast food job.

The fact that Sullivan had to burn the time out that early and said nothing to them during it speaks more to the absurdity of their collective effort than if he would have gone on a tirade. Kudos to him for making his point. My only criticism is he waited about 10 minutes too long to do it. He should have called it right after the drop of the puck once he realized the teams pulse was a flat line.

Like I said, Graves problem or no Graves problem, this team will not make the playoffs with the lax and smug attitude that some games aren't worth getting up for from the start, and that gimmie points aren't as equally important and worth playing hard for. Oh, I'm sure the Bruins game will see a better effort early on, because that's what they typically do against better teams after a dud like this, but if they don't win, it only further magnifies they treasonous behavior they display when they refuse to look a gift horse in the mouth like they did last night.

  5. Graves has all the stick skill and gap control of Orpik (not saying that's good), without any of the physicality. How long before he stops being able to skate too?

  6. Sitting Ludvig was pure stupidity against a heavy team. Clearing the net would have helped on a goal or two against. Ryan Graves AND POJ can’t clear an etch a sketch. Yes I’m dating myself there. Typical Sullivan move. I understand starting Jarry, but now you have to, HAVE TO go with Ned for a few games. Make Jarry sit and see then give him a chance to earn it back.

  7. Just go back to the original D pairings. It's not like the Pens were bad, they just couldn't score power play goals. All the metrics say they should be one of the top teams in the standings.
Power play failed to secure them a point in this one too, although it was close a few times in the 3rd. The comeback failure was bad puck luck.

  8. Let's face it, they proved again that you can't skip a period of play and expect to consistently win games. Jarry gave up one bad goal of the 3 and the rest of the team didn't show up for the first.

  9. Stop making excuses! Graves is a disaster! He's soft and weak. There is no intensity or drive. Something has to be done with him to salvage this season. This guy was lethargic on that first goal by Wilson. He could have easily reached out to try to deflect that shot . He watches an awful lot out there, instead of acting.

  10. I have not hated a pittsburgh penguin as much as I have hated graves. I have disliked him ever since the 4th or 5th game of the season.

  11. Well, you're not going to trade graves with that disaster of a contract. 5 1/2 years left on it. Jarry is the most inconsistent goalie I've ever seen. A complete Jekyll and Hyde of a player and he has way too much time left on his deal to trade. You're STUCK with them.

  12. The Pens problems almost always are about the Defense. Not sure why they are never able to fix that…why they never seem to have 3 good lines. Speaking of, how would you evaluate Karlsson's performance of the Pens to date? not so great aye? Maybe a show evaluating all the Dubus trades to date wouldnt be a bad idea since we are now getting to be at the mid point of the season?

  13. Graves' advanced stats are only marginally lower than his career numbers. His Corsi, Fenwick and zone starts are almost identical to Pettersson's, and Letang's Corsi and Fenwick are actually slightly below league average!

My point is that those stats are stupid. We can see how each of them are playing. We also know that some guys struggle with Sullivan's "system" and that nobody has ever gotten stronger or tougher after they get here. Sullivan's staff does not know how to teach it. I think Graves will find his game eventually. Dubas has proven he's not totally incompetent at talent evaluation.

  14. Dubas fix your f up, bringing this soft ass giant slug to this team, you gave this slug Graves a 6 year deal?😂😂 fix it now!

  15. I am not ready to give up on Graves either. I know he's not played well this year, but I think he still has a lot to give. Unfortunately, it seems Graves has taken the track of Sergei Gonchar and Paul Martin, who also struggled their first season with The Penguins, until they finally figured it out. Martin it took longer, he struggled for a couple of years and finally by year 3 of his deal, became a rock solid force for the Penguins on the backend.

So I am not giving up on Graves yet either.

  16. Pens fans melting down again…
This Pittsburgh fanbase is the most bipolar fanbase on the entire planet…

  17. 27 has failed to make a positive impression thus far. A big body who gets in the way. Little else.

More concerning tho, is 65 failing to justify his salary. Unlike 27, 65 can often be a liability.
