1. Whatever NHL teams need to win – this team doesn’t have it. I’m not saying rebuild but, this management group needs to move the tectonic plates here, a big roster move is needed and one that shocks these young players into a new compete level. Also JM is just not a long term coaching solution, but I know they can’t do anything about that until the summer when the best candidates may be available.

  2. Am I the only one who notices how soft Norris is in puck battles ? It’s like he doesn’t even care that the other team is taking possession. These are some of the reasons that we have outcomes like this so often.. I don’t think you can put this all on goalies but it has been pretty bad.. need a shakeup here

  3. The sens have a roster problem. We look like the edmonton oilers before McDavid and Drai. Soft core that doesn't know what it takes to win.

Blow the team up. It's over for this core. So disappointing

  4. Don't forget 3rd goalie for the Swedes Kevin Reidler. Hamara has really impressed me this tourney its a big difference compared to last year. Sadly Oskar Pettersson isn't playing very much for the Swedes at this tourney so tough to see where he's at

  5. Anton Forsberg is not an NHL goalie and that's why no other team in the league wanted him. He ended up on the worst run, last place team that uses 5+ goalies a season. Half the guys he's had to compete against for a job aren't even in the league anymore. You'd have to pay to get rid of him in an NHL trade and probably not worth it to do a minor league trade. Best option is to waive him, he clears and can move into more of a hands-on mentorship role for the younger goalies. As a guy who worked so hard that he got a job he didn't have the skill for, he has a lot of value as a mentor.

  6. The PWHL game was alot of fun to watch. But man they NEED team names. They are missing out on merch $$$. I"m not buying a generic Ottawa jersey. Sens game was…..another Sens game. Same script different day. Thought Korpi did great in relief until that last one. I still like Korpi even though the numbers aren't great. I think its time for Soogard to get a try as Forsy has been wildly inconsistent. Plus Soogard is playing well right now

  7. It's not all on the tendies, allthough they are not à formidable tandem. See Cam Talbot, all of a sudden a top performer. Defense is very weak at the right (totally undeep), the only forward backchecking is out (Joseph)., the core is way too soft. Soft spoken Jacques Martin was pretty hard in telling the truth after the game. What does the core want? I think one or two pieces need a big wake up call or even should be traded. Dorion left a cap strained mess.

  8. The Forsberg game against Buffalo was an outlier. Buffalo made the same mistakes Ottawa makes on offense where they would shoot too much from low quality areas. A good team would make life difficult for goalies with structured offense that generates quality chances.

A 1A/1B Goalie idea works if you're in a winning system. The Senators don't have that and the constant rotation is hurting both of them mentally.

  9. Everything that we are witnessing with this team is all due in a nutshell to the indoctrination of DJ Smith to the players. Most of them never had a real coach before. It will take months to correct if even possible. They basically need to relearn how to play professional hockey in the NHL.

  10. The season is done, and it’s on the players. Leave Sogaard alone, done with the excuses. We’re at the cap they can suffer..

  11. I think forsberg is stiff or something. 2 MCL tears on both your knees would have a lasting effect especially as a goalie, it just seems his reactions and athleticism is slower this year. Wouldn’t hurt to call sogaard up and give him a shot in the near future.
This was written before you guys touched on it but I find his reactions are slower this year

  12. Yeah Timmy screwed us in preseason looking so nice with that shot lol. I put way too much on him to get 40 goals RIP

  13. The mistake you guys are making is being mad cause this team should be good. They aren’t. The second and third periods weren’t a moral victory. It was showing who is willing to play meaning who will be staying. The changes in the last month have been needed for years now and that’s where the positivity lies. These guys are living a country club life right now and that’s all changing since Andlauer bought the team, Dorion got canned and DJ got shot into the moon.

  14. I'm in AZ and I've been watching Ross and Pillsy for a few years for entertainment purposes only. I have to admire what amazing diehard fans you guys are. You are now reminding me of long suffering Cubs fans before the won the WS. I enjoy their misery that only great fans can have. Very humorous to me. I miss Pillsy ranting and whining he's calmed down some. More pain needs to be expressed ! It is just a game boys! In regards to your question good defense makes good goalies play a lot better. I've seen Forsberg play great. It's all between the ears. Craig Berube here we come! Winners breed winners. Thanks for the laughs.

  15. I luckily missed the first period, but found the next two entertaining. They need to fix how they play in their own end. Looks like they stand around too much.

  16. Yep…its going to a LLLLOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG last portion of the season. Keep Mads in the A – he doesn't need to be a part of this tire fire right now – let the B Sens get a good run at their playoffs. You said it right – "if your going to be bad then be terrible". We will see cap relief next year and moves can be made at the trade deadline and retool away from the Dorion era

  17. Taking my 10 year old to his first game of the year vs the Avs on January 16. We got him seats 5 row from the ice for Christmas – and at this point I’m just praying to not see another bloodbath!

  18. This team needs a rebuild. This one didn’t work out and we need to fill our team with committed two way players. Brady, Giroux and sandy can stay all others are moveable.
New attitude on the two way game and we’re good but tear it down.

  19. Lol yo IMAGINE players coming in the locker room in the morning and all their STALLS has a big sign with their CAP Hit and age! That would probably wake up a few players 😅😂 or like Jacques just railing them in a speech saying how much they make but can't play defense or commit to play 200f

  20. A sucker run in a game vs a sucker run once the season is over, is just extra suckery! I agree, I am done being sold lipstick on a pig!
