This is very encouraging (I think). I hope he makes it back to the NHL for at least a few more seasons but I can also see him going to Europe as well.
Hope this step forward legitimately helps him get back. Mental health issues are no joke and there is no way if knowing if he returns to the NHL soon, but for his sake I hope he has put this period in his life behind him
You love to see it. Does anyone know the time / game cap for an AHL conditioning stint? It would be great for him if he was able to play for the wranglers for like a month to really get back on the pro hockey routine and get his legs under him, but I don’t think he can stay down that long.
Either way, I think he will tear up the A during his stint, even with being away from hockey for over a year.
Even if this long absence means he can’t return to a competitive NHL environment, I’m just happy he’s playing again :’)
Have to hand it to the Flames on this one. Not many teams would treat mental illness as an injury similar to the way the Flames did. Wishing the best for Shilly!
