It’s honestly embarrassing to tweet this as a reporter, though.
Yeah, there’s truth to fact that other guys say shit, they just don’t get caught, but we shouldn’t have the main beat reporter for our team advocate for targeting guys. It makes us look bad, it makes the team look bad, and it’s only going to result in more « dirty team » bias.

Russo is an embarrassment.

I mean what he’s saying is completely true..
One person intentionally injured our player, it’s on film.. even though it’s a hockey play you see often doesn’t mean anything. He fucking tried to take his stick and hit him where there isn’t padding AND IT WAS ON PURPOSE THAT HE AIMED FOR THAT SPOT.. and everyone’s take seems to be “ooh it’s just unfortunate..”. No fuck that, and fuck the people saying that.. he deliberately tried to injure Kap and it worked.
And now the jets say “WE HAVE HARTMAN SAYING HE INTENTIONALLY TRIED TO INJURE OUR PLAYER ON AUDIO!!” And with no proof and just the accusation alone EVERYONE including most of our fanbase says Hartman is dirty and should be suspended… like what the fuck is going on?
Russo is saying some very obvious and true shit and y’all are turning on him?? Nothing he said isn’t true.
Watch this “admission” never come out and everyone will walk away from this situation thinking Hartman is evil and Russo is a bad reporter.. for nothing. Fuck so many of you people in this fanbase

To all the Winnipeg fans that want to lurk here… You know Russo is right. All my homies hate Logan Stanley and Brenden Dillon.
Screw your dirty ass team. Pound sand.

I wouldn’t recommend looking at the r/hockey thread about it.

People bashing on Russo should actually read the tweet instead of glossing a headline. Grow up.
I’ll remember how the hockey sub is treating this. I’ll remember to have absolutely no sympathy for teams best players getting targeted.

2 things can be correct in this whole situation. I think that’s what everyone not a Wild fan is forgetting.
What Dillon did was bullshit.
What Hartman did was bullshit.
r/hockey and most everyone not a Wild fan are focusing on only what Hartman did. The things people are saying about Russo are hilarious. They grab a headline or single comment and run with it. It’s so annoying.

There’s plenty of wild fans that also can’t fathom the thought that the pegs intended to injure 97. Since they don’t like Ryan being a rat they’re going to just be ok accepting 97 getting hurt
jordynbebus8
Russo needs to stop talking tbh though like cmon dude give it a rest and move on
Like we already know everything about what he just said and now other fans are gonna use this to dunk on Wild fans because our most popular beat writer

“Airing the admission publicly” a journalist specifically asked him and he answered the question?

I like Russo, he is pretty good reporter, but he does get pretty salty on Twitter at times. Maybe he wants a job in a location with better weather or something? I think last year was more of a fluke play, weird hit. This year was a cross check. If any other team had their franchise player injured twice by the same team, they’d be going nuts as well. Does McDavid, Matthews, Crosby get cross checked like this?
Trash_Panda0_O
One thing that really bothers me is that I’ve seen very, very few wild fans condoning Hartman’s actions. On the other hand, I’ve seen a number of comments condoning or downplaying Dillon’s actions from Jets fans. It’s maddening. Dillon was knocked on his a** by a fantastic reverse hit by Kaprizov, & immediately retaliated by cross checking Kaprizov in a vulnerable spot with intent to inflict pain or injury. Both plays by Dillon & Hartman were cheap shots & have no place in hockey.
And I’m so tired of this notion that those types of cross checks by Dillon “happen 100s of times every game”. That’s BS. Rib/kidney shots like that aren’t happening hundreds of times per game, and even if they were, it doesn’t make it okay. The league needs to get that cr*p out of the game.

The reason why the NHL always announces injuries as UBI or LBI is because opposing players will target injury locations. It was widely known that Kirill had taken shots from Suter last postseason, and now a bottom of the lineup plug has targetted Kirill in the exact same spot (right side of the back)
