Believe me, The Sun is a complete rag and is pretty much on the same level as The National Enquirer. Imagine the headline if this “no-name” goalie had beaten the Leafs! The Sun would rather bury the Leafs than ever write anything positive which is why I think it is actually a back-handed compliment to Dostal that he played so well and that Matthews had to “save the day” and is thus a complete burn on the Leafs that they couldn’t score against him.
But, as a Leafs fan, here’s some advice:
Never ever read The Toronto Sun!! Ever! I wouldn’t even use that trash to housebreak a new puppy.
You can’t give respect if you have no respect. The headline should have read, It took the Laughs until OT to beat the no name goaltender for the win. 😮

To be honest, I never heard of him before Jan 3 but I'll remember him. To hold the top shooter in the league scoreless for 3 periods was fantastic. OK, he's not Ron Tugnutt but still, 55 saves is very impressive. Come on Toronto Sun, do the right thing. Great job Mr. Dostal.

I made a similar mistake last year underestimating Dostal. It was his 4th NHL start against Oilers and he landed 46 saves and a 939 sv% ultimately winning the game.
He deserves more respect for sure
