Drouin is a guy that has to be carried. If his linemates are hot, he follows. If things go quiet, he disappear. Don't ever count on him to start things up, inspire or lead. This is what he showed in Montreal and it's the same in Colorado.

The only winning Drouin ever brought to the NHL was when Tampa won the trade to get rid of him.
First, I would say that it is too early to conclude anything about Drouin's performance, the sample is too small and one has to wait to see if this is sustainable or not. Remember at the start of this season, it looked like KK had finally arrived and he was accumulating points with the Canes. Now, 6 weeks later, KK has gone back to his past performances with only a few few points over the past 15 game and a terrible minus 8 on a very good team. His playing time is down to 10 minutes a game on a fourth line. That being said, If Drouin has a career revival, the Habs lose nothing, it is only a good news for Drouin. As a Hab fan, I would be happy for him.

Drouin has been fun to watch improve here in CO. Honestly adding different things to his game and playing well despite not always being on the top line. The first 10 games were rough and his projected points are still looking good with those games included. Gotta thank Montreal for being a joke of a franchise and giving us good value players for cheap😂

In those 10 games they are all weak teams except Win where Drouin went -1 and th eother two games with good quality teams he had ZERO points and was a minus.
So basically Drouin is getting points against weaker nhl players.
This matters a LOT because to win the CUP th true goal of every team you need to play well versus the better teams.
You also need to see how these players play because it is possible to get a goal or assist against good teams example on the PP a lucky bounce an open net goal etc etc.The entire game the decisions made the puck battles all thos need to be looked at to determine a players value.
In perspective Nikushkin was given loads of prime ice time within Dallas for several years and he sucked.Drouin had some HQ ice time on the Habs as well but was not effective for more reasons that just looking at stats.He was SOFT a low quality shooter he lost puck battles and was easy to knock off th puck.Sure if you stick ANY player with Mc Kinnon and Rantanen and Makar he might get some moments og glory but if you go after a player like Drouin hoping to improve a bottom team he is NOT yoru guy.
