   Who cares if the cap is going up? It’ll be eaten up (and more) by the new Matthews and looming (and idiotic) Nylander deals. And the leafs will have all these free agents at the end of the year to free up cap space. Great but who are they gonna sign to replace them with no less cap space. Jesus Christ have a convo that makes sense. Willy is having a career year because he’s wants a contract and will go back to being a 85 point player. Good season but not for 11.5 million for 8 years. And he is average in the playoffs at best despite all this delusional crap about being a great playoff performer. When was he great? He got pounded around by the Panthers last year. The leafs are paying an obscene amount for 8 years for 36 games this year. Anybody who agrees that is wise needs their heads examined.

   This happens all the time,players play great on his contract year! Should put him as 3rd line centre for the year! Make him earn his contract. Would probably save a few million a year for 8years. Leafs having a good year but will be screwed next year 🤔

   I think the leafs have really done well drafting assets and that statement goes back to Morgan Riley. Signing them all long term is the right move because you don’t lose the investment in development for nothing. Do you really let Willy go for nothing at this point?

   Time for this bullsh!!t to stop. Make an example of one of the core four. 9.5 million is Leaf's maximum .Be prepared to let him walk. He will, because he don't care about the team. Either you are for the best interest of the team or either you are not. Option 1: Talk to him and ask him what team he wants to be traded to and give permission for him to talk to them. We get something back. Option 2: Let him walk and we free up 10 million for next season. We can get a good defender, another middle six forward and goalie.

   They should NOT give him 11m a year. Make an example of these grifters once and for all. Set a reasonable price to save to acquire defense. If they don't like it let him walk. Seriously. Enough of the bs paying them so much money

    This has to be orders from MLSE and shanny. To keep this core four together until they retire? Make no mistake. Next summer Marner will get a raise. And JT will take a 'haircut' at like 10 million over 5 years or something. They seem adamant on quadrupling down on this idea that you could pay 4 players 50% of the cap and somehow win even though it's unheard of in the NHL.

    With the all star game, I’m with Pierre Lebrun, just get rid of it. It’s not really competitive. Players aren’t giving full effort. It’s an event that exists for marketing and ad revenue.
