  1. If the Leafs are going to go deep in this years playoffs, they need to upgrade their defense with at least 2 heavy, tough, d-men. The current defensive roster, does not cut it! Get to work Tre, your slacking!

  2. Broberg for Robertson isn't terrible but I feel like the leafs are gonna want something else as well, either picks or a forward

  3. Can’t afford to sign 88. Why can’t they trade him for that rh stud dman that the Leafs desperately need..?

  4. stop reporting these possible trades from sources that have little to no creditability.

  5. Robertson could use a fresh start, his performance as a leaf follows a patern, gets in line up, scores a couple in the firt two or three games, play drops off noticably, gets injured. This happens every time he gets a run in the line up, i think a fresh start would be good for him.

  6. That's a terrible trade for the Leafs. Broberg has struggled and needs more development time, which means he can't help our blue line. Benoit is our bottom pair LD and has played great. Robertson for Fabbro from Nashville is a much better trade even if we have to add a little.

  7. Given half a chance Robertson would shine. Keefe is the one that needs to go. If your name is not Matthews, Marner, Tavares or Nylander you have to take what you can get with this coach. Just my opinion of course.

  8. If you guys do this I will never forget the stupid movies that is being made I wonder if you know what the heck you are doing

  9. It we want to win now then Robertson has to go. That 3rd line needs an aggressive puck retrieving for the 3rd line and Robertson simply isn’t that. We have enough young forward prospects to afford losing Robertson (Knies, Minten, Cowan). Trade Robertson now while he still has value for either a veteran 3rd liner or help on D.

  10. If Broburg is 6 foot 4 220 lbs stay home D man who block shots and is nasty in the corners then I would say yes size and muscle shut down D man trade for that

  11. If the Oilers want to move Bromberg. They will want something in return. Robertson would be a throw in for Bakersfield, but the Oilers would not accept a career 8 goal scorer as compensation unless the Leafs were willing to take Connor Brown off their hands.

  12. Trading Robertson would only show the Leafs have not learned from past mistakes. Yes, the Leafs Legacy is maybe one of TERRIBLE TRADES. Trading away some legends for nothing. Trading away picks that were turning into All-stars. Look at these names, just for a sample: Sittler, McDonald, Rask, Jarvis, Mahavolich, Wregget …
Worse, they have a long history of dumping young prospects too soon and then looking foolish. This is nothing new — this trend goes back decades … I remember Edmonton picking up Craig Muni and even as a kid thinking it was not good. And after 800 games with the Oilers, I was proven correct. How many cups did he win? Look at Cheevers (and Rask) being claimed by the Bruins. Russ Courtnall. Anyone remember Jason Smith? For years the Leafs brass then searched for a tough dman to bring heart and character to the team … and they traded him for nothing. We saw the Leafs dump Marchment a few years ago — and then he bloomed.
Further, they are too often guilty of misusing players and then criticizing them for a lack of production. Robertson has gotten NHL time this year, sure — but what line has he been on? You cannot give a guy limited minutes on checking lines and expect him to put up great numbers. For awhile he was with Domi and Bertuzzi — two guys who were massively underwhelming, at the time. The Leafs misused Kadri for years and moped that he wasn't progressing. Well, he learned to be a great 3rd line centre after being drafted as a natural scorer. But he also picked up a negativity after years of neglect. And then, after being traded in a massively lop-sided deal that did not favour the Leafs, he had a career year, won a cup and prospered. And remember how the Leafs could not trade him to Calgary?? Well, that seems like more of a blunder since he signed there as a free agent.

  13. Man, yoy can do better than a clickbaitey title… this isn't a trade. This is a trade rumor.

A trade rumor the oilers wont do lol. Im a leafs fan and i lnow that trade is one sided in favor of the leafs. There would need to be more added for edmonton to consider it.

Where would he play? Reilly mccabe and benoit already seems fine for the left they need more help on the right and someone with more experience.
