Dont mean to sound like a broken record but this month is HUGE if the Sabres want to make the playoffs. 7 of the next 10 games are against non playoffs teams, San Jose TWICE! They need to go on a LONG WINNING STREAK!
I wonder if Adams called Chicago and offered Olofsson since Chicago is desperate for forwards, Foligno and Bedard out . Trade Olofsson and bring up Kulich.
Recent history tells us that anything is possible.
In Jan 2019 the St.Louis Blues were last place in the NHL – they fired their coach (I think Mike Yeo?), and hired Craig Berube. They made a huge trade with the Sabres at the deadline (we are all very familiar with the particulars) and they went on to win the Cup. Personally, I think the Bruins choked – they should have won that series.. and I still say Binnington should have won the Conn Smythe instead of O'Reilly.. but it is what it is, and the point is: ANYTHING is possible! Let's go Sabres!!
The oldest team in the league against the youngest team in the league. Both are not ideal in the NHL but it will make for an interesting game. I assume Crosby go off and that’s the difference.

This game leaves me wondering… 1. their track record lately says they'll lose just because they won the last one.. 2 UP appears to be getting the start and right now I don't trust him… He's the most notorious for being lights out one outing then the next being porous.. 3. Pittsburgh has been hot… that's even worse because we can play with good teams (hell, we beat Boston).. but on a rebound game… not so sure… Go Buffalo… The need to win this.
Wayne you know this team playing 6 games at home isn't an advantage like it is for other teams lol. They're terrible at home.
I’ve come to accept and believe that I think we need to ride this season out even if it turns ugly. I really believe they could be at the top of the standings with better guidance, but one thing I agree with Granato on is they are in their own heads. I can understand making a FEW trades, but we can’t give up on the long-term plan with this team. Right now I’m even fine with UPL and Levi developing. What if it all works out? With the goalies and most of everyone else? We need to have the courage to have even more patience despite all we’ve suffered.
Last years team played hard even in losses. They were always in it right till the very end. This year that's simply not the case. By the end of the first period you know what's happening this year. They lose games in the first period this year.
With the juniors tournament over, I think it's time to bring up Kulich. Send Krebs down, we need more offense immediately. Wayne would you trade Olofsson for Elias Lindholm?
