D’accord, donc Tampa est passé de décevant à prétendant en dix matchs. 1. As a year 1 Tampa fan and someone who played the game, I am often highly critical of the team. Last year, as much as I enjoyed the record tying wins, they had 15 or so more wins then they should have. All because of goaltending and somewhat reckless free Wheeling play to score goals, I had a strong feeling they were going to lose in the playoffs. My feeling was obviously dead on.

This year, however, I have noticed a much greater dedication towards team defense and taking less reckless chances. Not only that, the team has some different dynamics in size and speed. The 2 rookies Verhaghe and Stephens are absolutely relentless on puck pursuit and they are energizing the other lines.

The 2 problems I see, are the inconsistencies with stamkos and kucherov.just don't understand why both of them are so inconsistent every game. Sometimes very very good with the puck and away from the puck and and other games they both feel like they're lost.

in any case I feel that this team is much more well-rounded and more discipline than they were last year. I think some of that comes from the adversity they faced in the beginning of the season.

  2. Flip side is TBL had more games with teams which were under performing in overall like Det, Ott, Mtl (2), Phi, Van, Flo.
However we would see the same results until they meet penguins in February. Atlantic might end up i assume the like TB,Bos,Flo,Tor cause Come what may Toronto is loosing steam.

  3. Man I really hope Tampa doesn't pass Boston in the standings… I cannot handle another Bruins Leafs first round matchup 😫

  4. The biggest difference with this year’s team is their defense. Yeah you can say they were among the tops in the league last year, but a lot of that was due to Vasy stealing games when they weren’t playing well. That’s why I hate it when people compare this year’s team to last year’s. The details and execution especially on defense is miles ahead of where it was last year. It was a process at the beginning of the season that’s why they struggled. But trust me, this year’s team couldn’t be more different than the 2018-2019 team

  5. im sorry, but after that abysmal performance in the first round last season, im not overly intimidated by this streak – no denying that it’s very impressive, but ill hold my full opinion back until the playoffs

  6. No wins going into overtime is very impressive as well. Just have to play good defense and goaltending and we’ll be just fine.

  7. Really Enjoyed, thanks!
The Lightning turned on the switch. The maturation of Cernak and Sergachev is starting to show. Also , kudos to Jan Rutta. He came over almost under the radar in what seemed like a bookkeeping trade. His positioning has been impressive and I don’t anticipate he will see the bench anytime soon. The defensive buy in by the forwards has been noticeable by all 4 lines. The kid line with Stephens and Verhaeghe(sp?) can’t go unrecognized. They have persistently cycled the puck to great effect. No doubt Vasy has stepped up but the team focus has been impressive. Can’t imagine how good they could be if Johnson, Gourde, and to a lesser extent Kucherov, score goals regularly. Still amazed by how little Brayden Point actually shoots the puck despite being a phenomenal player. Anyway, it’s been awesome to watch. Cautiously optimistic. Kudos to the Flyers, they played very well. My first hockey love before the birth of the Lightning, they remain a team for which I have a spot in my heart.

  8. I think what I am noticing this year compared to last year is that this year we are focusing more on the defensive side of the game, trying to limit turnovers and making the game more simple. Last year we would have lapses in the defense and turn the puck over at times but ultimately our talent or vasy would steal the game away. However we were exposed in the playoffs. I think that is why we had the slow start trying to adopt a new style and now it is all coming together.

  9. No, “if you happen to be browsing your way through and like what you see! Hit like and subscribe. Thanks” this time?

  10. Waiting on your response to Ray Sherro GM of the Devils being released of his duties effective immediately.

  11. Last time you did a " lets look at a teams winning streak" the St. Louis Blues won the cup. Does that mean its Tampa Bay Lighting this year for the cup. 👀

  12. What I have noticed is, the Lightning have cut down on high quality scoring chances against. The Lightning defense is blocking more shots. Plus, Vasilevskiy and Curtis McElhinney have played very well.

  13. Okay now I don't feel so bad about losing to Tampa the other day. They're clearly just absolutely on friggin' fire. Going to be very hard to stop this momentum.

  14. just to add a little info to you up side drumming of this great run of Tampa ,starting from their the losses to Dallas and Washington on Dec19 and 21 the only team that qualified for playoffs last year was Carolina …..oh and just saying why the ran the score up on Vancouver was they might have been a little scared Van could score 5 or more goals in a game,,,,, just saying Vancouver play 3 playoff teams to get to there 7 game win streak.

  15. The only team in The Atlantic that’s answering is the New Jersey Devils. They’ve been super formative since dealing Hall and Hynes. Yeah I know highly unlikely they don’t earn a playoff space even wildcard but they’re seem intent on just trolling all the top contenders.

  16. A classic case of the Hockey Guy jinx in today's Lightning-Devils game? He will be modest and say its just that the Devils have been playing pretty good lately, and they have, and that Admiral Ackbar said "It's a trap". And it sort of was, but every long point streak has to end so why not now after the 10 game streak video?

  17. Tampa fan here. Regular season seems to be on track. After last post season… we’ll let’s just say the fans around here are still nervous. Go Bolts!

  18. Hahahaha can't stop laughing because I know people are going to blame you Shannon for the Bolts losing to The Devils tonight after making this video.

  19. nice video tampa doesnt look like the same team at all like they were when the season started. nor in some cases like last year's. their defense at the point of attack has gotten really good. the goals will come kuch, gourde, johnson etc. they get their goals i.e. their offense will become horrifying to the other teams in the league then just watch the bolts take over first in the league and become a team that noone will want to see in the playoffs

  20. The lightning had to learn to play a more defensive responsible style. Once they got that down, Vasy started playing like shit. Now the planets have finally aligned
