I actually like this standings prediction except the devils…
I agree with you on most things, but I think NYI will probably finish 3rd in the Met. I think its going to be close between Philly and NJ for that last wildcard spot because Tampa just knows how to make things happen. As far as the west, my current list has all of the same teams, but in a different order. I've been keeping tabs on some stats since the Oilers have turned things around, and Winnipeg is a scary team. Over their last 19 games they're riding a .9401 SV%. I really think they'll take the central. The Pacific is hard to call right now. Canucks have a -71 shot differential in their past 18 games, I feel like at some point Demko is gonna crack, but not enough for them to have to compete for a WC. LA and VGK had a great start to their season, but they're both stumbling hard lately 3-7-0 for Vegas and 4-4-2 for LA in their last 10. I'm taking Canucks, Oilers and VGK finish top 3 in the division, but the order is a total crap shoot at the moment. LA and probably Seattle grab the WC spots, but maybe Seattle is tough. They're on a 6W streak right now, but in their last 18 games they have -3 goal diff and .9302 SV%. If their goaltending cools down they could be in for a rough patch.
