That almost comeback was more flukey than decisive. At no point were the Devils guiding the play and dictating the pace. A couple of outside shots found the target and the Devils are lucky they didn’t let in more goals themselves. Overall, that was a great effort from the Canucks in a game which wasn’t nearly as close as the score suggests.
I’m a Canuck fan; have been since ‘72. So, don’t like to point this out, however, Peterson kicked the Devils’ defenceman in the back of the leg, just prior to JT’s goal. That’s why the guy was crawling around on the ice.

As a Canucks fan- just in regards to your commentary about the speculated uncertainty and them “being on the ropes” – I seriously question if you watched the game- or watch the canucks, because at no point, literally at no point were canucks fans sweating.
If you havn’t checked out their stats this season when scoring first, or lead after 2- maybe check them out. – again, literally no concern at all.
As a matter of fact I placed a Live Game Puckline bet for canucks to win by -1.5 when it was 3-2 because it was laughable that the devils had scored.

To me, I see the initial stats. you showed with 4 out of 5 top lines being centered by Petterson as proof he is an elite NHL player and essential to the Canucks success as a franchise; however, the question truly is whether or not he is happy in Vancouver and wishes to sign a long-term contract? As a devoted and passionate long-term Canucks fan, I certainly hope we can sign him long-term. I would like to see what he and Lekerimaki can do on the same line.
How much is Petersson worth? There are so many things to consider: depth of talent in the organization, impact on the team and fanbase should he leave etc. IF Mathews is worth nearly $14m in Toronto, then Elia's is wirth $15m/Yr…he's a far better player and he cares. Of course no one will be paid that TODAY but if the Canuck Organization is serious and Elias wants to stay, he must earn $12m. The Team is on the cusp and the future looks bright. They will have another outstanding Swede in the lineup next year. The Canuck's are in a position go legitimately challenge for the Prize and the powers that be should make every effort to keep the momentum tum moving forward. Signing Petersson to a long term contract ($12m) delivers a positive message to the players and the fans. Make it happen!

the lotto line has to stay together. the 22 million dollar line is dominant. the supporting cast seemed to hold the line but they do need to bolster the 2nd and 4th lines.
