Something I go back to at this point is that they were definitely not performing well in November, but there were a solid handful of games in October where they were the better team and lost. They had some really bad luck to start the season. I mean of course it’s ultimately irrelevant, they DID lose them, but ppl would be having totally different conversations rn if their record reflected that. It's not as dire as it looked for a stretch there

  2. This game was for all the Yinzers who think this team is better of without Letang 😂

  3. I can't wait until rust is back. Doc played a really sound game last night in my mind. I was paying attention to him specifically, and he was a net front presence and then found some soft spots and then supported pinching d-men. Now he didn't show up on the score sheet, but he seems to be playing with more composure and smarts. That being said, a 3rd line of doc-eller-pusti sounds good to me and then you have options for the 4th line. Z- accari- nieto. (Harkins, carter, etc).

  4. wishful thinking, 6 assists in a game r a positive outburst, but b4 yesterday…. he was 5 points behind EK…

  5. Great win, good to see Rakell get another goal and Letangs performance was incredible. We gotta long way to go. Wins in the last two games this year will very much help!! Foot on the gas!!

  6. Letang is just trade bait now. Get 1st rounders for all these old players. These players aren't ever going to win anything again. Remember the cupboard is bare. I mean really bare.

  7. Kris letang broke Gretzkys record for most assists in the shortest amount of time.
Gretzkys record was 6 asists in 30 minutes 17 seconds, in 1980.
Letang did it in 19 minutes 33 seconds. Over 40 years later.
I repeat, HE BROKE A GRETZKY RECORD.

  8. The trouble i have with the Graves situation is this.
Say you put him on the third line. Then you go and get a player to take that 2nd pair role. Well, then you have to take out Ludvig. Which means you lose some grit in the third pair D.
If they could trade Graves and get a draft pick and retain SOME salary, i say go for it.
Then go trade the pick and maybe another for another Dman and a depth scoring forward, that would be great.
Somehow i think they need to make that happen.
