  1. Smart of philly to move him before it got out of control. I wonder what really happened behind the scenes

  2. I don’t like the Flyers, either maybe I can get traded to sunny Anaheim. Do they need a 56-year old in net or something? ☀️😎🥅

  3. Gauthier will be a crybaby his entire career and will destroy team chemistry in whatever locker room he ends up in.

  4. Reasons are clear

Ducks = Heavy in Defensive prospects already and in need of a goal scorer. Plus JD is injury prone.

Flyers = kid didnt want to play there for whatever reason. Maybe angry Briere had him play at the college level another year.

Regardless, if Drysdale can stay healthy, it may have worked out well for both sides.

  5. I'll tell you why he doesn't wanna go …tort is the reason ..he is afraid to get railed by his coaching PLUS you haven't played a game and you're not wanting to play somewhere in the nhl??

  6. The real question that should be asked is WHY ?
WHY didn't he want to go to PHILADELPHIA?
It's one of the numerous American Teams that Canadian players seem to want to go to.
    WHY ?
Is it the Culture, The City , the Team ?

  7. Well, Gauthier had the opportunity to drive Philly for the next years along with Michkov and wasn't interested

  8. The complete story is that Gauthier wanted to sign and play for the Flyers THIS season but Briere informed him that the Flyers wanted him to go back for his Sophomore season at BC. Gauthier felt the Flyers didn’t believe in him so he decided if they did believe in him he wanted to play for an organization who did.

  9. not sure this is weird. I think everything DannyB did was perfect. If drysdale can stay healthy this will be an amazing trade, and before we dump on Gauthier we need to step back and think about it. there are many things that could have happed that we do not know.

  10. Cutter must've caught wind of what it's like to play in the Philthy sports market & came to his senses. Good on him.

  11. Philly got the best player. Don’t want to play for Philly, sounds spoiled. Which team is next that he doesn’t want to play for?

  12. Nothing weird about it. Cutter was all in with Flyers until Kevin Hayes was traded. After that Cutter would not answer any phone calls from Danny Briere. Flyers were lucky in that other NHL teams kept it quiet that Cutter would not play for Flyers and were able to find a Team (Ducks) who gave up a potential top pair right handed defenseman. Ducks were so unaware of situation that they added a 2nd round pick in 2025. Personally, I think its a weak move by Cutter to not even go to camp and try things out for atleast year before making determination not to play for team. This puts alot of pressure on Cutter in Anaheim and absolutely puts a bulls eye on him twice a year they play Philly and this doesn't even get into the onslaught of social media salt he will receive over the years from a very devout Flyers fan base.

  13. I really think people are making too big a deal out of this. I think sometimes we all forget that these players are very young. Cutter is only 19 and was born in Sweden. I’m surprised there’s not more of this happening. Maybe pros or veterans that have been in the league will speak up and say they’re unhappy where they’re playing but you hardly ever hear a player doing this that just got drafted. But it’s like do they even know what they’re doing or getting into? Lol! He’s making a decision that he’s going to have to live with for possibly many years to come. He was excited at first, then he had second thoughts. People do this all the time. At least he did tell the Flyers that he didn’t want to be there. How many times do people join things then shortly after making that choice they realize they made a mistake? I wouldn’t doubt if there’s players that just came into the league wishing they would’ve spoke up too after hearing this story lol! He absolutely could’ve handled things much better and communicated more but regardless, this is going to work out pretty good for both teams.

  14. i think briere and the flyers deserve some huge props here. most teams would just hold onto his rights and try and convince him to stay only to lose him for nothing. briere just said u know what, u don't wanna be here? fine don't let the door hit ya bud. got some solid pieces too.

  15. Gauthier wanted to play immediately in Philly. Brière felt he needed a little more development. So he didn't sign him to the ELC right away. That is where Gauthier "didn't want to play for the Flyers". He was just playing pitty…
