Be hated by the whole league any% speedrun
Just sounds like sports fans crying as per. If the kid doesn't want to play on the team, he doesn't have to. End of story imo.
Honestly, good for Cutter. Philadelphia is an absolute shit hole. If he had problems there, he did the right thing rather than wasting everyones time. He has a right to choose where he wants to play and where he doesn't. He was willing to not get paid for 4 more years to pick whatever city he wanted. I respect the fuck out of that.
The Lindros Saga was dramatic as hell, this was not
Weird how both situations involve the Flyers
Tortorella had the best response. Still hate the Flyers but I have a feeling they won this trade, definitely in the short term if nothing else. Not looking forward to the next time the Pens play against them cause Drysdale has nowhere to go but up.
You can’t blame the kids for not wanting to play with the Philadelphia Flyers at the end of the day it his future not your
He's no Bedard…
Yeah people making the lindross connection is just flat wrong. Completely different situations.
It sure sounds like it's the fans in Philly who are being the big babies.
Adam fox is much more recent
Not sure how this compares. With everything they got for Lindros, the Nordiques/Avalanche became a force for the next ten years and won two Cups. That fanbase should love Lindros in hindsight. This simply won't make any kind of wave like that, and I would be shocked if Gauthier doesn't slow quit on every team he plays for once things get rough. Making Pierre-Luc Dubois vibes.
Dude really get you shit right. Lindross was transparent from the beginning about Quebec. They drafted him anyway.
This punk kid lied and changes his maind for little to no reason. Not a similar situation at all.
Get yout fucking shit together dude.
Gonna bet someone at the Flyers is a total creep. Something happened between this player and the staff there. Something nobody wants to talk about…
I've said it with Bedard, I'll say it with Gauthier, I'll keep saying it with every athlete entering a major league sport.
Just because you can play at a certain level above your age group, doesn't mean you can play that way against the men.
The pacing is different, the IQ is higher, the physicality is one-sided (meaning most players are either fast or strong, rarely both), the plays are more advanced, teams require different specialists roles. All because the level of play is elevated and the stakes are higher.
If a young player thinks he's all that and a bag of chips, he better be. Or else the league is going to splash him with a bucket of cold water. (And sometimes an injury.)
– Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk.
Scripted Afff
If history does repeat this will turn out well for the flyers
Might as well do this instead of becoming PLD lol
Man I never though I’d feel bad for the flyers but i do, I hope drysdale really helps you guys a ton
I'm a Canes fan, I see an Adam Fox situation here.
This reeks of immaturity and conceit.
I sooooooo hope he gets traded again to Pittsburgh- would be a great rivalry!!!!!
What about Adam fox who would only sign with the rangers
Hes gonna end up on the Pens
The Lindros thing was a lot more public though
Poor kid probably getting shit from torts and couldn't handle it so he wanted out torts is doing a good job making players hate him
Eric Lindros went into the draft saying that he will not play for the Quebec Nordics, having the strong belief they would not be a contender for the Cup for some time and that he and his family was not found on the French langague. Lindros rather sat out a full NHL season then play for them, demanding to be traded.
With Cutter Gauthier we have not the same scenario where the kid would not plain-out refuse to play.
Still Anaheim Ducks I hope will in a couple of years have some decent lines of scorers to win a Cup!
And idk about just saying you're a fan of sid. he was a kid growing up and seeing crosby light it up constantly. It's like bedard growing up is well documented as a canucks fan, which makes sense as he was a north vancouver kid during the loungo and sedins time
Comparing his dumbass to Lindros is one hell of a stretch😂 L take
Seems like everyone is overreacting
Of course THIS is they Flyers video that I get. Now I'm interested to see if Cutter agrees to play in Anaheim or if he holds out one more year and tries to shop himself around as a FA.
Just like a real life 9 to 5 job, I can say no to where I want to work after meeting my bosses who may or may not be an asshole (sorry Torts).
Kid must have soft hands lmao xD
I am new for NHL. Can someone explain me what is a big deal?
Dude doesn't want to play with one team so he changed it for another.
Nothing bad at first glance.
Can I just say that I don't see the issue with this situation? I mean, if he signed and then didn't perform, it would have been worse for him and for the team with the cap and all that. I'd rather trade someone who doesn't want to play with my team rather than trying and force him into it.
Not the same at all men get inform is the owner of the Nordic owner try to have sexe with is mother …. not the same at all lindros family kept this secret until a couple of years
The privilege you have to ever be drafted in the NHL, let alone first round 5th overall. I don’t care about his reasons, I don’t like it. I thought it’s a big ego move. I’m not a Flyers fan, I just don’t like to see big opportunities like that taken for granted.
I just feel bad for Jamie Drysdale in all of this. Dude just got better and now THIS?
I know they make great money, but why should these kids have zero say over where they'll be living and playing. I never understood the company man or foot soldier.
Gauthier is still mad that Briere torched his beloved Penguins in the 2012 playoffs.
