  1. With how fast the Kings top 6 is, idk if he can keep up on the rush. I think the idea of another big 2 way center to help depth scoring is good, but I don’t think PLD fits the Kings style of play as well as they thought.

  2. Oh my goodness! A player going to a new team with a big contract is underperforming! That is so unexpected, so unique in the history of the game!

    C’mon people.

The number of times where a player signs a big-money contract and then immediately lives up to the new contract numbers is so low that it becomes a headline when a player does live up to the contract.

Look. Hockey is a game that is played at a higher speed than the human brain evolved to process. You have to rely on muscle memory, on instinct, on learned behaviours that have become habits or you will be unable to keep up with the game. You hear coaches & commentators saying “he got caught thinking there” when someone makes a mistake.

When a player signs a big contract, they usually try to “earn” the big bucks by trying to do something other than the things they did to get the contract. They change the way they play. Then they start to question the way they play. Then they stop trusting their linemates, and their linemates start to not trust them. And then suddenly, the season is over and you’ve dropped 25 points from your previous season, your defensive game has evaporated, your physical play went from “tough” to “stupid”. You take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror, you double down on your offseason training plans, and you come back the next season better than ever.

How many times do we have to see this same pattern repeating itself over and over and over again with 90% of the players in the league before we can stop panicking when it happens again?

    Take a pill. Chill.

  3. As a Kings fan, I agree we massively overpaid for him. But the dude really hasn't been that horrible. He's a playmaker stuck playing with guys who can't make plays. However, he's not good enough to replace the current #1 (or even #2) guy in LA. Still, if he's not making bad plays and hurting the team I really don't have a problem (yet). Yeah, he's not lighting the lamp, but he never was a sniper, so what is anyone honestly expecting?

Yes, He's being vastly overpaid for a 3rd-4th line Center, but until we move him up or get him out playmakers on his wings i think it is what it is. If i don't see him hurting us, i'm not going to worry about… for now. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  4. montreal prioritises french players but it doesn't seem like they made any effort to get him. maybe his reputation was established in the QMJHL and they wanted no part of him.

  5. Kings fan here. I think the Kings should put PL on the left wing first line and see if he can produce with top players while also seeing what Byfield can do in the Center spot. If PL can't produce with Kempe and Kopi then bench him or put him on waivers to send a message.

  6. What you see is what you get with pld as a jets fan Chevy pulled off a masterful trade so happy with the players winnipeg got back sorry la but pld only plays when he wants to

  7. He is a good player, but he’s a 10 year old girl child. His play in Columbus and Winnipeg shows that, gets a bit of a slap on the wrist for his lack lustre play and he shows how bad he can be.

  8. PLD is a defensive forward? He has – minus stats pretty much most of his career.

  9. bro to busy enjoying the beach, give this guy all that money, comfort and luxury expect him to have any motivation, great idea lol

  10. That is funny. PDL is a good player if he want to be. Sh@tty personality. He's definitely going to be a red flag for other team in the future. He's not going to last in LA.

  11. I'm surprised that people are surprised about Dubois anymore. Dude's a mercenary and only puts in effort to get a bag of cash before shutting it down. Columbus, Winnipeg and LA have all fallen for this scam. The worst part is that Dubois is a great 2 way player that can have 60+ point seasons when he tries. He's one of the most wasted potentials in the league in that regard imo

  12. That's a lot of millions of dollars for "what ifs". Sounds like they need to rebuild 2/3 of their team around him for his contract to show it's worth

  13. LMAO! You would think he would be happy in LA because there are only 2 gay bath houses in Winnipeg and hundreds in LA! Dig deeper on this clown and you will find his gay pride is VERY STRONG!

  14. This is team number 3. His attitude stunk on the last two, but was playing for a big contract. Now that he has his big contract the attitude is coming through again.
