Hope Danielson still gets to play top minutes

    First off Fuck the Oilers.

Hopefully Wallstedt’s debut last night with the Wild should be the end of the Cossa debate at least for a season or two. There is no reason to rush Cossa into the NHL. Let’s wait till the two of them get a season or two under their belts before we start talking about the better goalie.

Feels like weeks since the last Wings game. Let’s go boys!

    SET THE TONE EARLY BOYS!

And Holland will trade for Riemer and Petry soon enough..

We got a tough month of matchups ahead, lets hope detroit can manage the game tonight. Did somebody say Robby Fabbri legacy game?

    Per the presser yesterday.

Lyon is starting against the Oilers. Reimer may play this weekend.

Husso: still Week to Week is practicing

    Walman: Questionable (Illness)

    Kosten: Should debut this Weekend

Amusing note: Lyon is considered one of the top two goalies.

I’m still very confused on why Minnesota called up Wallstedt? Tough outing last night.

Not wings related but was reading [this Athletic article](https://theathletic.com/5188274/2024/01/10/nhl-predictions-2023-24-midseason-check-in?source=user-shared-article) revisiting their preseason predictions narrative to mock how bad their (and basically all of our) opinions are about where and how teams and players will pan out. It’s not a data thing, mostly qualitative narrative revisiting. And they look at all of the original article comments for sentiment, too, as you can imagine the shit people write when *they* know better than the pundits. Here’s my favorite, regarding Hart candidates (emphasis and brackets mine]

    > -***9. Name up to five players who will finish in the top 15 of Hart Trophy voting.***

    >*[Some obvious stuff that was correct]*

    >Also, I don’t think any of the one entries each that named **Vladimir Tarasenko**, Pierre-Luc Dubois or (checks notes) **Keith Tkachuk** are going to pull through, but I admire your individuality.

I really just want to meet the absolute delusional probanly-Sens fan who thought 1) Tarasenko would be Hart-level and 2) Misquoted Brady Tkachuk as Keith Tkachuk. Could have been a second gunman on the grassy knoll from Florida who was thinking of Matt Tkachuk, but it’s funnier to imagine the delusion happening in Ottawa before the season started.

    Go wings.

I really need to do better about scheduling date nights around Wings games, especially after a few days between games.

    LGRW!

Lmao man those Sabres and Sens fans are pretty sore at the moment. They talk shit from the bottom of the standings and then when you give it back to them, they get salty as fuck. Never a dull moment on /r/hockey.

Even if the Red Wings go wholesale tank in the latter half of the season, at least we aren’t the Sens or the Sabres.

  12. Excited to get back to some Wings hockey tonight. Hope the fellas had a great few days off and are eager to get back to the streak!

  13. TheNation55

Wallstedt just got completely obliterated in his NHL debut for everyone that was convinced he was ready to go over Cossa. Not defending Cossa, just saying goalies are a crap shoot guessing game.

  14. Going to my first game of the season tonight with my dad. If we win, you’re welcome. If we lose, sorry about that.

    LGRW!

Edmonton only had 15 shots against a Bedard-less Hawks team. 7 shots between the last 2 periods and just barely won 2-1. Shut down 97 and 29 and let our depth beat theirs.
