Y’all opened the comments thankfully
As much as i want them to go for it, selling the farm is not an option. Willander and Lekkerimaki are off the table in any trade, those guys are how you refresh your lineup in a cap crunch. The 1st and pods is the only real trade and id still be wary of taking on a contract in return when we want to try to re sign lots of these UFAs. Get a rental or 2 to fill out the lineup and use the cap going up and some contracts coming off the books to keep these guys together and bring in some entry level guys for next year and run it back.
I'd say the Canucks have all the right pieces in all the right places right now, And with our prospects up and coming will have those for years to come.
Making people who don't know what a 105 PDO is maybe. Out in the 1st round, just like 103 PDO Boston was last year
this is the content that I am here for
Petey would be the league scoring leader if the Lotto line was intact from the beginning of the season!
Absolutely no doubt!
Now leave them together!
What can we get a 3rd rounder this year and no 6-10 prospect. Can we get a depth defenseman and a depth center?
Rick is right. Of Rutherford can say this is a deep playoff ready team. They absolutely should go for it. However the answer will be NO. They don't have the playoff know how yet. Next season or the year after.
L Take on trading for a big piece. Do some simple math, Petey Miller arent going to be at this salary anymore
If we need to make a all in deal with top prospects and 1st round pick, we better get a young, up and coming player with cheap contract, not rent a UFA.😅
This is one of the only times the team has a solid prospect pool while also being a competitor. Vancouver had a steep drop off after their cup run in 2011. Giving away top prospects like this feels like we’d be repeating past failures especially with the core being as inexperienced as they are in the playoffs.
We want the lotto line to stay together. Yes? For that to happen we need the other lines to keep performing. One injury on those lines and the Lotto line is at risk. We don't need s first round level add-on. Just a competent player for depth. A second rounder rental? Teams will start to get nasty and physical as the playoffs approach. That's how we were done in by SJ and then Boston. They beat up Kesler and we ran out of gas. Simply put? The Canucks are a playoff team…at least. Think in those terms! JMO, though.
