President Shanahan and GM Treliving are CRAZY to call Samsonov up from the Marlies rather than having swapped Dennis Hildeby for Keith Petruzzelli. Given how Samsonov has, as far as I'm aware, YET to play a game following his last NHL start (a 6-5 OT loss to the Blue Jackets), I'm worried about whichever game he starts (should he start a game at ANY point this season after 10 January Eastern Time), he'll give up a bunch of UGLY goals.
"Dubas wanted to streamline things." Dubas wanted his job and Shanahan's at about double the salary that he had agreed upon days before. It is almost like he knew he had that very deal waiting for him somewhere else if MLSE said no.
Samsonov. It is hard to know what is going on there. They dressed Murray knowing that he couldn't play. Maybe they go right to the ebug if they have to pull Jones.
Many Leafs forwards are only defensively responsible if they feel like it. It is unfortunate the organization doesn't have a person who could hold players accountable when they only play half a game. Some teams, say Vegas for example, have a guy who demands solid two way play. Sadly the Leafs management lacks a person who can do that.
Robertson is one more one dimensional guy who can't be bothered defending. He should have been traded years ago. It is appalling that the Leafs moved on from Marchment and kept Robertson.
Islanders. A team built for the playoffs. The kind of team the Leafs really struggle against. Which Leafs team turns up?

Sammy is done. JMO. They should give the big kid in the A a serious shot. He and Woll will be the tenders on the future for the Leafs.
Hopefully Woll is putting himself first, heal up get healthy, and put your agent to work. At this point the Leafs value you, this might change in a heartbeat. A number one goalie should be worth 6 million at least. This team has money and they have no regret ending anyone's career. Make them pay for the ability to end your career if you have a few bad games.
I think our team should watch Canuck games. Then our coaches should tell the players to play like that. Or Florida but it is harder to get someone to play like Tkachuk. I know this will hurt our Goals for, but what are we here for cups or trophys, we play like all we want are the trophys, our media hypes the trophy chase all season, i dont see Vegas doing that. They are all about the cup.
