    the ref waved off offside incredibly late tbh. at .25 x speed and at 10 seconds the re waves it off as McDavid is WAYYYYYYY inside the line. Also at 10 seconds its completely offside. What a sequence.

    I've skated my whole life. When I was a teenager I was the absolute fastest guy in every league and tryout, including some junior tryouts (I had no hands and wasn't big enough to fight, so they were just tryouts).
    That said, I have absolutely no idea how he accelerates so fast. His edgeworks makes no sense to me, and nobody in the NHL can replicate it. I feel lucky just to watch it.

    totally offside, bounces off a redwings player, then bounces off an oilers player, then McDavid carries it offside, he got lucky here

    OK… I’m a big Oilers fan and could watch McDavid highlights until my dying breath, but how did the refs miss the offside call?? The Oilers dodged a bullet on that one.

    To inform the people here that don't know rules, the play was on-side because Mcdavid drags his right skate on the blue line during the delayed offside call while waiting for his teammate to clear the zone – and he also avoids touching the puck entirely in order to not take possession until his teammate clears the zone. Once they do, he then moves his skate over the line and then touches the puck for possession.

    I am certainly NOT an Oilers fan at all! But you have to give credit where credit is due. McDavid is a spectacular player and fun to watch:)
